I dont find tw3 fun in any way
The game to me feels like I am playing a game with errands as the main quests and limit less talking to other people. I have a feeling I made the wrong purchase or am I missing something here? I see some of the people ik replaying this game like mad yet I don't get "sucked" into this game as they do... Advice would be appreciated

I personally find enjoyment while playing this game, first of all, just because I like the whole concept of the universe (it's an adaptation, so not even thanks to devs), then secondly, because of the scale of the game, which creates an opportunity for me to forget what parts of it were even about (ofc excluding the main story) and so even though pretty much the entirety of the game's content can be placed somewhere between mediocre and awful, I can still sink my time into exploring various pieces of the game's world and their little stories, and lastly, because of the opportunity that the two already mentioned things - concept of the game and the amount of content - plus mods and ofc my own imagination provide for me to use the game as a medieval fantasy sandbox (not really a good one) and to create my own place and stories in the games world, like for example, trying to role-play and create little stories based off of a selection of games content.
But I guess most of this is pretty much all late game stuff. If I had to tell you how I got into the game in the first place, I started playing maybe a year or two after the release, after all the 10/10's, "gaMe Of thE deCadE" and "gAmE chAngEr" bull was fully ingrained into the gaming community, and I do remember clear as day how the first few hours of playing hit me like a brick because of shattered expectations, it took me maybe a few weeks to sit down and try to look at it again. But then when I recovered from that head trauma, I little by little got into the story and the lore of the universe. Also a part of that process was still trying to find what all the hype was about for myself, which would later on benefit me in a greater understanding of the workings of the gaming community as a whole and the consolidation of the belief that the majority of people I interact with are no better than NPCs. When I got done with the main story, I went on to finish completing the rest of the side-quests, then finishing exploring the world, and so on and so forth, and what I had in the end was me getting the 100% completion and at least a couple of playthroughs on my back. It was basically like watching a mediocre movie: it wasn't really good, but it wasn't that bad either, so I kept watching and sinking in my time. That's pretty much all of the enjoyment I got out of the game, besides those few super rare moments when the game was actually kind of good, which I can even name as they were so few: Priscilla's song, Keira's bad ending, Bart talking about rocks, the dog's life dialogue with Yennefer, Margaritta's default dialogue and the bad ending, oh and also Regis as a character as a whole (if I'm not forgetting something).
So my advice would be to either keep playing, if you like something about the game, or to just not waste your time. I personally, if asked if I'd recommend the game to myself today, after knowing what I know, would have to think twice before doing so. The only other reason I see for playing this is to just experience something that, I'd say, could be considered to be quite a significant part in the recent history of games, so you'd have a reference when discussing about games or something (it's mentioned quite often on such occasions, makes it easier to filter out people who don't know wtf they're talking about).

Depends…what were you expecting otherwise? TW3 has so much variety in types of quests to take on, and the exploration-potential is highly rewarding. The main story arc is pretty grand and all the optional side content is full of mystery and discovery…perfect for an open world RPG enthusiast.

What’s your current favorite game? That’ll help answer whether or not you made the wrong purchase.

Can't blame you, it does feel like doing errands, it takes so much time gathering information about a girl named Ciri that you don't know, spend hours and the only thing you get is a piece of information, and even if you know where she goes, you still have to search...

If you're not into the atmosphere and want to know the story right away, you will disappoint with this game.

Op I am going to have you answer your own question by asking you a question. Your answer will answer your question.

1. Have you, will you or do you you see yourself interested ever in being an avid novel reader? In other words have you ever read a novel? multiple of them.

If your answer is yes. You enjoy reading novels then this game is for you as there is enough dialogue in cutscenes, main quest, side quest and generally talking to people and generally the whole game to fill 5 novels. I literally found a script of witcher 3 online and copied all of it and pasted it into a word count program. the average novel is around 90k words.

Theres over 450,000 words in witcher 3s script. A general google search of how many words in witcher 3s script results in the same.

So if your answer isnt you see yourself interested in reading multiple novels. If novel reading isnt your thing. The shear amount of dialogue in witcher 3 isnt going to be to your liking.

so is it? Or is it not? would you read multiple novels. Do you see yourself enjoying that?

Not, especially when I am forgetful and forget dialogue especially that much dialogue. This might be why Bloodborne or fromsoft games are my favourite. They deliver the message in a short and concise way and mostly through the world they built and its lore.

Then i garauntee you by time you put this game down and quit playing whether or not you finished it or not. and you ask yourself would you have rather played some other game.

Your answer would be yes.

I dont think this game is for you my man.
Every rpg is same, you gotta do side quests in order to get some hints and clues that progresses the main storyline which lead to side tracking.. Seems like you're a newbie to the whole rpg genre..

I suggest you play a FF game before you are classified as being oblivious to what Final Fantasy is
