Phillipa Eilhart Megascope Crystal

So I'm 90% into the last bits of the main campaign for the second time on Death March. I have Phillipa's Megascope Crystal that I found in her cave hideout from before. So I went to Radovid and told him I found nothing in the cave, but at this time, I had already made preparations for the battle of Kaher Morhin with the exception of helping Triss (which I did shortly after the Radovid quest) So the option for telling Yenn or Triss about it was not available to me. (** I should note that I have Yenn romanced in this play through**)

When I began the quest "Reason of State" to have Radovid Killed for good, I went to his ship, told him I had proof of Phillipa's whereabouts again and then he brought up the Megascope Crystal when I had told him previously that there was nothing there. Is this some sort of loophole in the plot leading up to this point? Or did the developers get lazy in adding the extra bit of coding to have that little bit of dialogue changed if you chose not to tell him about the Crystal? Seems rather confusing and since I'm almost done the Main Campaign a 2nd time, I'm already too far in to mention anything about the crystal to Yennifer or Triss. At least I think it's too late?
