I prefer a mouse and keyboard. Personally can't stand controllers.

if the controller works in all other games, perhaps the input.settings file in folder
Documents\The WItcher 3
is corrupt. delete the input.settings file (or rename it). start game and see if controller works. if still doesnt work, wade thru the file and see what key witcher sense is bound to

Witcher works fine with a keyboard and mouse. But you may have to change some key bindings as some of them can he a but awkward.

I play games like dark souls with a controller but this game is better with KBM

Keyboard/M is the way to go. I never got the controller thing.

Can you play a pc game on a pc with a mouse and keyboard? erm....I will just leave that right there for your answer. The answer is kind of in the question.

And yet there are many many games for PC that don't play as well with KBM compared to controller, mostly b/c they were designed for console first and then ported. Many ports are poorly done b/c they are contracted out. So OP is quite justified in asking.
Feeling salty or get salted today?

On reread it was a tad more sarcastic than I meant. however the point is the op has the game, whether a game is good or not on keyboard and mouse is usually pure opinion, we could all say its great, and the op being used to a controller could hate it. All they needed to do is load it and have a play for themselves. I just found it an odd thing to ask personally, at least without trying.

As for whether K&M are good for other games that is a different subject, again pure opinion based, there is no right answer, though personally even with ports I prefer keyboard and mouse, bar maybe beat em ups, but I only play them on console anyway.

By default controller inputs are incomplete for the game. The inputs for the keyboard and mouse however are complete by default, but badly mapped out. I don't believe it's actually possible to put all the inputs on a controller, so I would advise you play the game on a keyboard and mouse.

Mouse & Kbrd is the best way to play, imo. Leave the controllers to the consoles. Real men don't eat Quiché, and they don't use controllers...;)
