Money should be easy. Just remember to sell swords to a smith and armor to an armorer. Actually the higher the area you are selling in the better the prices. B&W has the most money and you get the most from the sale. Consider yourself an arms dealer. Not all smiths pay the same price. I usually just sell to Hattori or the smith in Oxenfurt if Hattori is broke until B&W is available.
NG+ gear is better than the carry over gear GM style due to stat increase. You loose the +'s from GM bonus though. ie you have to treasure hunt again. But look at a good time to upgrade as well. I think by level 10+ over what I started NG+ at I was ready for an upgrade on everything except Aerondight. That sword wasn't going anywhere :P
Keep in mind you are going to loose 3 slots on that piece of equipment, which equals 6 slots on gear for 2 runes. Is it worth it? Some builds yes, others no. There is a depends there. I only went for, on wolf gear, the weight so I could still use Cat skill. That, to my build, was worth loosing 3 slots.
Ahh leveling that sword on NG+. Heh. I spent an afternoon, in game afternoon not real world, going after wraiths that would take hours for me to actually kill (skull icon) in the fields outside Novigrad. Believe it or not it was fun. I wouldn't give up 3 slots on Aerondight but, I might have a different style than you.
i have 22k gold, not alot, but i got stuff to sell in my inventory so maybe 25 k. As far as build go idk, i just sorta play the game, got mostly light attack skills, trying to research the 8th spot (can do it but not enough levels) so i can have more skills. But yeah, i mostly just use light attacks and igni.
But then, its not really worth giving him the money for the second tier upgrades, i can just put like, arrow deflection on my GM feline armor, and preservation on aerondight or my GM feline steel sword, and then just use that until i find something/can craft better stuff in NG+ ? Because those enchantments, preservation and deflect, they will go away when i switch gears? Or can you like, dismantle those pieces then to put those enchantments on the new armor/swords or will it only be useful to me till i can craft better stuff in ng+ ?
Since you mention that you are using feline armor i assume you have an attack based build, in which case i don't think it's worth it to update the runewright to level 3, most of the good sword skills there are for the alchemy build (prolognation, invigoration), and the armor level 3 upgrades are mostly useless with the exception of levity, if you are using a heavy armor like ursine.
For the armor i would recommend to use the protection skill, having a quen activation at the start of combat is very helpfull, (or you can use entaglement if you have the ydren trap skill).
For the swords if you have whirl and/or rend go for Severance definitely worth it, if not
preservation is quite strong too.
When it comes to protection, thats a tier 2 skill, doesnt seem worth it to me (even tho its nice to have). I just dont have alot of money, so ill just put the arrow deflect on it, seems quite useful, at least early on in NG+ deathmarch since a stray arrow can take half your life (i tried ng+ deathmarch abit like i stated until i decided to prepare properly).
But yeah, My aerondight is not leveled well at all, currently sits at 536-656 damage with damage bonus increase of 26 (maximum of 90).
Should i use aerondight still in ng+ deathmarch or should i use GM feline silver sword for the full GM bonus? Because im thinking, if im not gonna go for the full set bonus, i should probably not use my GM steel sword either, since i can get a better sword stat wise and i will still have the current GM buff without it. So then i can get a better steelsword, put preservation on it, and maybe put 3 sockets on aerondight and either put preservation on that too (if i end up using it long term but replace the steel sword), or i just put 3 sockets on it and put some other runes in it.
Thoughts?
Yeah, in that case keep aerondight (you will get chances to level it), and put preservation on it, and replace the steel sword when you find a better one (in which case it's probably not worth enchanting).
Alright cool thanks! And oh, another question. About the herbs in the corvo bianco greenhouse. Can you only harvest them once? Because ive harvested what was there, so i can make as many greater mutagens as possible for mutation research.
You're welcome. I'm not sure about the herbs so take this with a grain of salt, but i believe they respawn after (real) in-game time, meaning that meditating does nothing. Can't say if it's worth waiting that long honestly.
Ah okey, yeah nah, ill just craft the mutagens i can from what i have and go to NG+, i can at least research the 8th mutation which will give me one more skill slot. The mutagenerator seems like its useless as well. Go kill 100 mobs just for one random greater mutagen? Nah fam. Thx again!
