Not to mention the amount of bugfixes from mods lmaoo, several hundreds.
It's definitively the first alternative - unless it's your first game ever.
I get that combat isn't the focus but the so called "game of the decade" should be more than an interactive novel. That's just my opinion and I would take Portal 2, Breath of The Wild, Skyrim, Mass effect 2, Mario galaxy 2/Odyseey, Dark souls 1 and 3, Bloodborne, Hollow Knight, (etc) EVERY TIME over this game.
I think the stating confuse's a lot of people, it's not the most straight forward system, and takes several levels and planning to get a "decent" char. The fighting is no different then Skyrim neither, swing ya sword an cast spells till opponent is dead.
I also think that people forget, it's set in the 13th C and they play heavily into that with the dialog and action. Unlike the Fallout games where you don't really have a sense of time.
I brought it cos it was on offer, and IT IS a fun game to play, treat it as in a class by it'self.
I'm not a huge MMO fan
Not saying other games aren't like this, but this is, for me, the only place on Steam I constantly see these kinds of posts.
I'm not seeing what others see in this game.
It's a fun game but nothing great.
As being a connoisseur of computer role playing games since Baldur's Gate 1 was released, and pretty much played every major RPG franchise released since then, My opinion is that Witcher 3 is among the all time bests. Of course this is only my subjective opinion and OP is entitled to his.
Here is some points that in my book makes it easily the RPG of a decade. Emphasis on the RPG. This is not an action game so if they cut some corners with the action to make room in the budget for story and other RPG elemets I am totally down with it.
- Fantastic story from start to finish even the side quests have been drafted with such rich detail and atmosphere it is insane.
- Love the fighting and combat. (I played Witcher 1 and 2 so Wither 3 is a huuuuuge improvement to those previous titles)
- Characters so deep and fleshed out that few other titles can even stand in the ball park.
- The world. The dark fantasy word which is both disgusting and beautiful is top notch.
- The protagonist. Geralt well....Geralt is Geralt and Rivals even wth Drizzt.
The base game story and environment / enemies are rather boring..
but the expansion is what makes this game shine.. in every single aspect... yes i shall repeat...
The EXPANSION of this game really outstanding in every single way.... of cos still swinging the sword in same way....
There's nothing particular hard with Witcher unless you are playing at higher difficulties and even then it's not that hard as long as you pay attention to beastiary info and which dedoctions you are supposed to be using - along with mixing in appropriate signs.
If you can't do this, then I can see where you would say it's hard; however, in that case, it's more of a you problem than the game.
