Prices of items
So in my inventory it says the jacket or whatever it is has a price of 100. I go to the smith and want to sell it to him - he only wants to give me 23 for it. So im better of selling it to someone else i guess. Whats a good estimate of price expectations in general? 100 and 23 is a huge difference so how can i judge prices in future?

If it's a piece of armour, you might get a better price at an armourer.

True, although sometimes the difference is so little it might not be worth the traveling unless you are at a low level and really need the coin.

So whats the general calculation than? At least a fourth of the price shown in inventory and at best a third?

I think if it's %75 of its original price it can be considered good. There must be a guide that tackles the economy aspect of the game well but what I do is I look how much does the said merchant give for the white pearl(If it can be sold to him/her). Its original price is 100 and for example the armorer in Hierarch Square gives 87 crowns for it so I take it that he's one of the if not the best merchant to sell stuff in Novigrad. I sell most of my stuff to him when I reach Novigrad as his prices look like the best and he has lots of money so you can sell more to him. So you can use my tactic and see how much the merchant in question give for the white pearl and make your assumptions by that.

I think im far away from that, i just entered Velen and it might take me a while to get there. But i have cheated myself a +70 saddlebag (i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate inventory limitations in games that drown u in loot).
Will see, im very careful with selling stuff, i dont know what might be importat and what not, so i will try to hold on on most things. I just visited the blood baron and oh boy that castle is loot paradise^^

You can always from Witcher wiki which stuff is important and which is not. As I said there must be a guide that would suit you well. Except that if you have weight problems press f and then sort the items by weight. Then you can put unneeded things in the chests (that you can put your stuff etc. I'm not sure what it's called). I started a new playthrough myself so if I will have more suggestions I will be sure to add them if I remember to do that))
