Vernon Roche Or Dijkstra ? *SPOILERS*
In the Quest Reason of State , You get to choose at the end to kill Dijkstra or let Roche die . I Choosed to kill Dijkstra because Roche was a good friend and helped me in Kaer Morhen (Also played witcher 2 before ) , and i found on reddit that Dijkstra was firstly intrudiced in the books and i wanted to see what you guys choosed , why and if you read the books or played witcher 2

The game devs want you to choose Roche as if you choose Djkstra they say how oppressive Redanian rule is. They didn't read the books and accidentally crapped on polish history by saying being vasilized by the HRE is good. Nilfguard and it's interactions with the North is heavily inspired by Polands history with invasion by the HRE and the black Knights of the Teutonic Order. In the books, the Second war is the finale one and it ends pretty much exactly how Polands war with the HRE ended before Prussia and Sweden went on to conquer Poland a few hundred years later. In the game, the devs decided there should be a third war and the moral ending is Nilfguard wiping out the North and vassilising Tameria thanks to the fanny Roche. The devs where to retarded to realise this means they are saying Poland should have got wiped out by the Teutons.

That quest was pretty much stupid, I’d recommend you be neutral

Basically you have two options: Nilfgaard or Nilfgaard without Nilfgaard (Dijkstra). Either way simple nordlings won't be happy with control & discipline enforced upon them. Sided with Roche because you can't trust authority to person this treacherous as Dijkstra. If he had plan to unite North under one banner all along, he could at least give a hint about it or even talk it over with people who went all-in (I mean, killing a person this important probably requires some high degree of trust) rather than just kill them before they could even think about rejecting his plan.

If you stay neutral, you leave Novigrad at mercy of racist and xenophobe.

Who cares, I roleplay as Geralt and he is always politic neutral, except when his friends are in direct danger. If you cancel the quest at the start (as if you were roleplaying), you won't even have to choose between backing up old friends and thus having a HUGE role in Nilf won campaign or reforming the Redanian Empire

Roche was a good friend
That's why it was a no-brainer for me to help him and kill Dijkstra. Never abandon friends.

I always go the Dijkstra way, he beyond charming with his little quips, while Roche is just an short-sighted ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ basically
"I draw it all from the flight patterns of birds"
"for all I care, he could be rotting down there with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ trombone!"
"you want a knee-slapper? I'll tell you one, ready? You lied to me"

Dijkstra is just too much fun to kill the guy over some dude with a turban suddenly wanting to be Nilfgaards ♥♥♥♥♥, Dijkstra ALL the way
