Do you upgrade weapons?
I have never played a Witcher Game, but I want a game that I do quests that involve me upgrading my sword, and getting a new sword. I am deciding if I should purchase this game or Monster Hunter world, but I don't know.

There are tons of swords to find or craft. Especially the witcher gear swords are upgraded across several tiers once crafted.

On second thought though, upgradable swords are the oddest reason to buy TW3 ever. Most people who love the game will probably have bought it for being a *story-driven* RPG.

Both games are pretty good for that. But Monster Hunter is much more weapon centric than this. Literally Monster Hunter is all about what you are looking for in this matter.

PS definitely get this game too some day though.

Okay. What I am looking for is something like Black Desert online, your slay monsters, upgrade monsters. Visuals are not really in the matter of me purchasing a game

I've never played Black Desert, but my understanding is it's an open world MMO?

Witcher 3 is that. It's not an MMO, but you go around A big world, talk to people (lots of talking and cutscenes), taking quests, exploring and doing quests, and getting money to buy a new sword with a tiny bit of customization in there. You don't modify weapons a whole lot. You will go hours with the same weapons ,but you find a lot of new loot throughout the game

Monster Hunter World is not open world, but has big open areas to explore and find monsters in. Monster hunter is about going to town taking an assignment to kill a monster, being dropped off in a big area to look for the monster. Then kill it and use it's parts to craft new weapons and armor. It's basically Boss fight: The game.

Dragons dogma seems just like The Witcher except it is on sale for for 8 dollars on steam. I also want to be crafting armour, Inlike the grind to upgrade weapons

I´m not shure if you will like witcher (It looks like you have a false impression of the game)
Ok there are hundrets of weapons and you can find or craft but thats definitely not the main focus of the game. Ususally most people pretty much keep the witcher swords and gear once they get them and upgrade it from time to time because it gets anoying to change or craft swords or armor all 30 minutes (because you will find so many of them). But again the best in witcher is the Story. So don´t expect a game where you will constantly run around an kill. There is a LOT of talking and cutscenes. And this is what people usually love about witcher. Combat itself is the weakest part of this great game.
