Technically though, it's the netflix series that deviates from book/game description of her. Personally, I don't mind.
Hmm, books describe her as "chestnut" haired, in Lady of the Lake even ginger haired... Lost in translation, I dunno? But as said, I don't mind the Netflix way either....Not a huge character there anyway (not yet atleast)
Geralt doesn’t event have a love life with Triss in the books.
The School of The Viper doesn’t exist, either.
Make her look right? No. "Triss" in the Netflix series isn't even close to being right. She is specifically described a "ginger" in The Lady of the Lake book. "Chestnut" hair, which is a reddish color, is also stated in Sword of Destiny. She wasn't dark-skinned either. The vast majority of characters in the Witcher novels are white or light-skinned (these are Slavic stories in a medieval Northern Europe type setting.) All forms of media, other than Netflix, get this right or are at least close.
Most of the casting in the Netflix series is utter crap. For example, there's absolutely no reason to make Fringilla black other than to fill the forced diversity quota (the producer is an obvious SJW feminist, based on her posts and casting.)
Really, this is just another case of typical WOKE agenda trash sh*tting all over a franchise and it's source material.
Stick with the Witcher game characters as they are if you want it to be "right." It's FAR more accurate than this Netflix series nonsense.
Sadly we live in a time where we need to have "representation", I agree it's a terrible choice to deviate from the original story and setting just because they're all white people.
they call this racism and these left wing types are all about creating boxes for everything from inequality to representation.
And I'm Asian irl.
This is just common sense.
But who knows what the real story is... Yennefer's actress is probably more eager to sign to the 'terms' of her contract than some other candidates. I doubt it but whatever... I guess we'll have to settle with what's already decided and done.
