Keyboard and mouse controls feel very weird
I don't understand why the movement in this game is so bad when everyone talks about this being the best game ever. Movement feels like it wasn't meant to be on PC at all, very weird.

EDIT: Overall movement in my gameplay feels wrong, when on the horse and holding W the horse moves like 20 centimeters and then stops.

As a new player to this game myself, I had to really get used to the controls. Jump-dodging is the most effective way I've found to avoid a lot of damage. I also use potion called tawny owl a lot right before combat to aid stamina. This game takes stamina seriously. You can't fight without it.

I understand what you are saying but my non-combat movement around the world is really wrong, maybe after playing skyrim, wow and other RPGs im just used to something else but my character moves REALLY weirdly

I have the same feeling. Mouse control is "squishy" and the keyboard movement feels odd. But I guess this is how the game is?

Yeah it takes getting used to. There's like 3 different speeds for the horse, for some reason. Walk and sprint would have been just fine, like with Geralt.

When not on horseback, I got used to controlling Geralt pretty fast.

"Best game ever" will never exist. There will always be somebody that won't be satisfied with something. People saying that witcher 3 is "Best game ever" just exaggerate. To me this is one of the best games I have ever played if not the best.

I have almost 250 hours in this game on a keyboard and mouse. Recently I got a controller and the game feels way way better on a controller. The camera movement, the character movement and combat feel much more natural on a controller. But there still are some issues with it.

Combat is below average and horse riding has much more issues than you can think.

Because I have played so many hours with K&M I tend to gravitate more toward that than a controller.

Switched dodge to space-bar and roll to V, made combat a lot easier. Wish that Geralt would just turn on the spot if I tap W because running circles around loot sucks. Horse pulls the handbrake if it touches anything while galloping, except people. The menu system is slow. Can't remember it being so bad in the Witcher 2, must be a console port thing.

Great game, shame about movement and such.

I have zero issues with keyboard and mouse.

That said, I think somewhere in the game menu there are standard movement options and alternate ones. Not sure which is which at this point, but I think you want the gamey 'stop on a dime' setting with zero momentum. Also you can adjust your mouse setting for the game

Try them out, if this is what your issue is.
