Mod Script Merger - how to resolve this merge?
I'm not familiar with coding and modding so this is a bit of an issue for me
https://ibb.co/i2FsVH
https://ibb.co/mmMo4c

Not sure how to resolve this. Do I have to pick one over the other? I'm not sure which one to pick... But most importantly, I don't know how to go back a step if I make a mistake. Trying to tread carefully here.

Help would be must appreciated!

EDIT:
Okay, so I tried running the game and this also appeared. Probably b/c the issue above wasn't settled but still, just for reference i'll post the screenshot
https://ibb.co/kCCBPc

Now, I still want to play the game. Should I just dump all the mods out save for a few I know works and play the game?

EDIT 2:
I just wanna play the game T.T - https://ibb.co/jktypc
I guess this was the risk of trying out mods without knowing anything about em

First, your antivirus software messed with files. It took a script of the mod or the game as potentially malicious code and it did the old trick of changing the contents of the file, so it's no longer a valid script file.

I assume you are on a Mac and you probably have installed the antivirus integrated in Mac OS. Just could give you tips where to search to manage your antivirus software.

You'll need to add TW3 entire folder to exclusions list in your antivirus so it doesn't touch game scripts. Also create a folder exclusively for downloading mods, and add it too to the exclusions list.

Once done with that look in your antivirus software for a place like quarantine vault or something like that and search for .ws files. Try to restore them.

Another option would be downloading the mod again and check game integrity files from steam client to restore base scripts from the game

Well, thanks for explaining the problem Damian. But I still don't know how to do all of that plus I did not use my mac for this, I have an ASUS laptop for gaming. Although, I actually downloaded some of the folders, actually most of them, on my mac then transfered them to my PC because the files I downloaded looked like this: https://ibb.co/dy2DNx

maybe the issue can be sovled by deleting all my mods then downloading them again on my PC. Just need to figure out how to turn the .7z files to .zip folders... I'm thinking that will do the trick but I'm hopelessly bad at this stuff. And also figure out how to exclude W3 ♥♥♥♥ on my anti-virus softwares, which I've been ignoring

EDIT:
I got this problem now: https://ibb.co/jktypc . Now I'm thinking it's a problem with the script merger. I had this issue before deleting most of the mod files. I just want to play the game T.T

Like how I beat the whole game without mods? Thanks for leaving such a helpful advice

Then it'll be easier. Just delete all the content in "The witcher 3\mods" folder and try to run the game.

If fails to run check game integrity files in steam client.

Ensure 1st that you can run the game without mods.

Then download the mods again. This time do it from your laptop. Leave the Mac aside if you want to make it easy. Try again from the Mac and the antivirus software will mess the mods files again.

All right, so I got rid of a few mods. But I keep get this issue: " Error [mod0000_mergedfiles]game\player\playerwitcher.ws(10819): Found unexpected '}' ". Should be simple enough to solve but I don't know how to "close" a code. Got advice from reddit but still not sure how to deal with this.

Just to be sure, I uploaded a copy of the file: https://ufile.io/q201y

And a list of mods I'm using
- Slots Slots Slots and its gui
- Always Full XP
- Gear Improvement Last Longer
- Gwent Card Dealer Balanced
- Trademan 1.31
- Over 9000
- Leveling Gear
- Mortal Guards
- All Quest Objectives on Map

You have much more there than closing a curly brace. That file looks like manual merging playing lotery. Open script merger and select playerwitcher.ws on the right tree view, undo the merge and then select it in the left side of the tree view and merge again.

If it gives you unresolved conflicts and they are a couple of them try to upload captures of them(the screen of the Script Merger in each conflict will suffice) or some way I can see them(if they are few, lets say <5).

Damian, damn dawg, you are a fudgin hero! Thanks for taking your own time to help me out on this. I just hope my own post will help out others like me.

Don't manage to figure out why script merger is making such a mess there...

OPTION 1: Delete entire folder /mods/mod0000_mergedfiles/ and run script merger again from the scratch.

OPTION 2(conflict fixing):
Where script merger says: B<No src line> you have to select that line and tell the script merger to pick A(vanilla) or C(slots slots slots mod) file.

Where script merger says: ?<Merge conflict> select that line and solve it telling script merger to pick C(slots slots slots mod)

This should do for the 3 conflicts.

I took modSSS and leveling gear out and the game works fine now. I now think it has something to do with the 2 mods themselves. Tried playing the game with each of the 2 problematic mods and the game couldn't run. But everything else works fine! thnx
