Not every game has all the same mechanics. Yes you could learn by trial and error but you could just as well progress far enough and then...lets say complain that you can't lock-on to an enemy and it's annoying you only to be told that you can lock on to enemies.
You had the option not to do the tutorial and the option to end it before you finished it. You choose not too. Only have yourself to blame. Several games never even give you the option and spend the first 10/20 minutes of the games gradually introducing controls one at a time including some that slow time and even pause the game completely. Even after you've altready figured them out.
