As you probably know, they are going to film The Witcher serial on Netflix. They're doing casting right now, and here is one of actresses, they see as Yennefer

According to the probing text, i still expect it to become a gory porn for kids as the target audience. Actresses and actors don't change the trend.

She's a fictional character, so no. Yennefer's not eastern European and the Netflix show's going to be with English speaking actors anyways.

You have such a hate boner for anything Witcher related nowadays I'd not be surprised if you've already decided you're going to hate the show no matter what.

Oh no! Her skin tone does not match exactly! Spoiler alert: Her voice might be a bit different. Additional super-spoiler: The storyline will also take some liberties! On one hand I'm kinda shocked that they would even consider this actress for the role given that she's not even close to Yennefer's appearance as described in the lore. I mean looking at her pictures via Google...the face is wrong, the eyes are wrong, the hair is wrong, the skin color is wrong, I mean the only thing that's accurate is the build - she's at least skinny the way Yennefer is supposed to be.

On the other hand, I don't really care since I currently don't have plans to watch the show - with Sapkowski consulting on it I'm already expecting to be quite turned off by the direction they go with certain things. I like the lore world and the character creation Sapkowski did, so credit to him there, but some things I wasn't a fan of in the books.

Live action when magic is involved is also really tough to pull off without looking unbelievable onscreen. Perhaps the show will pull in some new viewers who are unfamiliar with the books & games, but outside of that, my outlook for the show is mostly negative.

Fictional but she lives in Vengerberg in Northern Kingdoms, not to mention a polish writer. And that childish kindergarden bimbo fashion puppet Clark Backo's look won't make me watch that serie ever, when Yennefer of Vengerberg is written as the one and only Geralt's true love, and the archetype of the true strong but classy woman.

I'm starting to believe that BuzzardBee has become a legend of a sort. Hence the personal dislike-posts above.

Yeah, because looking the part is much more important than acting the part. Hint: it's not. Really the only things the actress need to be is competent and conventionally attractive though that is kind of debatable itself. Makeup, wigs, and costuming can do the rest.

Exactly my thoughts. Who cares if the actor is black white latino etc etc I am much more concerned about how they play the role.
