Issues with debug console (1.32)
I've changed the General.ini file and deleted the dssound.dll file and yet pressing F2 or the tilde key does nothing.

Have I done something wrong? I just want to fight 50 bears at once in the my complete bear school set

First, open the "general.ini" file located under
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher 3\bin\config (if you have your steam library in the default location), otherwise just right click on the game in your steam library UI and hit properties and go to the local files tab and click brows locals files and go from there.

put these two lines in under [General]
ConfigVersion=2
DBGConsoleOn=true

THEN you need to go to C:\Users\(your user folder)\Documents and open the "user.settings" file located there and look for the [General] line and add the same two lines under it if they are not already there and you will have a functioning console without adding a mod that can possibly interfere with other mods.

I hope this helps other people that have run into my issue where the console doesn't work after just editing the general.ini file.

Go to :

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\config\base directory

open the General.ini file and copy-paste the following under the [General] line :

DBGConsoleOn=true

Save the file and you're done.

I did exactly this, and the console does not show up

Do you have an AZERTY keyboard or something?

That's... really weird then. Don't know what to say except that it works for me, sorry.

Pretty sure you need a mod to enable it. Though idk if it's true but I installed one and did the edit in the .ini file and can open the console.

You don't need a mod for the console, the mod is for the free camera and it doesn't work for 1.32 currently.

Okay I just got it to work, no worries gamers

What was the issue? I'm dying to know.

Literally the wrong key. I thought it was the tilde (~), meanwhile it was just ( ` ) instead.

That's weird - on mine it's the tilde key. But ya, I had issues with this - I had been using the file placement mod to enable it, so I just uninstalled that and put the one-liner into general.ini like the guy above mentioned and that fixed it.

There's also a new mod out on NexusMods where some guys can help you roll it back to basically 1.31 core files to unbreak anything that 1.32 patch broke.
