Yea i use that quen and it helped a lot, but most monsters just 2 hit me and there is no way for me to counter them. I only kill them by having luck. I think i need better gear because this aint working. No clue where to get better gear tho.
The standard boosted set.
Basic rule of thumb if the enemy is roughly the same size as geralt or smaller then dodging will be most effective. IF the enemy is bigger then Geralt then rolling will be most effective.
You have 5 signs Quen, yrden, igni, aard and axii. Each of these signs have alternate versions.
YOu can use the alternate versions of the signs by holding down the same button that uses the sign instead of just tapping it which just does the standard version.
Quen: Standard quen blocks damage you would have received from being hit. The higher your sign intensity the more hits you can take before quen dissapears.
Alternate Quen you can hold quen up which puts a big bubble around Geralt. This negates damage you would have received from being hit but also gives you health back.
Quen is really the best way of healing yourself in battle for sign users.
yrden standard yrden places a circle on the ground in which slows enemies that are within the circle.
alternate yrden however places a ball of electricity( best i could describe it) that sends lightning to enemies that come near it. Which basically stun locks them for a time.
Igni standard just hits enemy with a fire based attack that has a chance to set them on fire.
alternate holding down the button will have geralt fire a stream of fire that last either until you release the button or run out of stamina.
aard standard knocks back/knock down enemies you can insta kill enemies knocked down by going up to them and pressing either the fast attack or strong attack button
alternate aard same thing except its released in a dome like attack radiating away from you 360 degrees.
Axii standard axii mind controls the enemy affected which prevents the enemy from doing anything. They basically just stand still until it wears off or attacked.
alternate axii has enemies affected actually fighting for you for a time.
Each enemy is vulnerable against atleast 1 of these signs. To know which you have the bestiary. Though this does not mean that only 1 sign will work.
The expansions difficulty was increased compared to the base game. This was done as a result of fans feedback to cdpr that the game was to easy even on the highest difficulty. So they raised the difficulty of the expansions to try to meet fans wants.
It may be better for you to start from scratch instead of playing the expansions only. Especially after some time away from the game.
He is playing the expansion only. So he isnt refering to the kaer morhen armor but whatever armor your equiped with the starting character you start out with when you pick either hearts of stone only or blood and wine only.
IT is sufficient armor to start off with when using those options.
Man, you missed a lot by not playing the base game, unless you have done so in the past. the base game is fun, the 1st DLC is somewhat meehh for me, but blood and wine is good....
he played the base game he stated so in the topic. First sentence of his second paragraph.
who what? lmao.... and i'll quote myself "....unless you have done so in the past..."
ahhh.... i was never into memes, don't even get why it's "me-me", but i heard people say "meems"...
