Max Level in Death March (First Playtrough)
Hello everyone,
I open this discussion to ask, to those who have already completed the game, a few things.
I'm about to start The Witcher 3 for the first time and I would like to play in Deathmarch mode, so I wonder what could be the maximum level Geralt can reach in the game (I bought the Goty edition, so I have all 2 expansions and DLCs).
I am a person who likes to complete all the missions, explore the whole game world up to overturn every single stone to see what's underneath and I have no problem spending some time in Farming / Grinding.
I have just finished the first two chapters at maximum difficulty (the first was too easy while in the second, during my second game, I found it useful and fun to install a Mod that gave 2 skill points per level instead of 1)
I therefore ask what could be the highest level achievable in the first game and whether it can be useful / fun to install Mods such as Better Experience Curve or Set Skills Point Per Level or not.
Thank you all and sorry for my bad english (i'm using Google translator).

You will usually reach about level 54 at Death March with 100% completion including both expansions. The max level is 100 which allows you to then continue to NG+ if you wish. It can be pushed higher but there is really no point in grinding in the game as the rewards are extremely low and you will just be overleveled anyway by the end. Being overleveled anyway means there is little point installing mods that give even more experience. I would recommend you try the game without mods first time and decide as you play what you want to change if anything.

Buzzard use W3EE it balances the game out a lot and overhauls economy to be harder and makes enemies more aggressive

Thank you all for the useful answers you gave me.
It's not the first time I have read about the problem of becoming an OP, but I needed further confirmation. I will follow your advice and I will not install mods for the first playtrough (except the graphic mods of course ;) ).
Thanks to BuzzardBee for the suggestion of NexusMod.com, I've already used it for graphic mods for The Witcher 1 and 2, Fallout, The Elders Scrolls and others, it's a magnificent and well done site.
Thanks to Furiey for confirming that you can reach and exceed level 50, during the first game, in Deathmarch mode (with effort and completing everything of course ;)).
Thanks to Alex, if the game seems me too easy I'll try W3EE from Lazarus Project during my second playtrough.
Thanks again to everyone.

The reason why I suggested Nexus is mainly due to the fact that they were officially sanctioned by the game's devs when the decision was made not to release their own REDkit for the game. Nexus mods are safe. Mods gotten from elsewhere are risky, to say the least.
Good to know, I used another site, which I do not remember the name, only once to download the Scabbard Mod for The Witcher 1 because on Nexus Mod gave me the page blocked because privatized by the developer.
I also prefer to use NexusMod because it is much better than others, especially the subdivision of the mods in categories (so I do not have to scroll 200 pages of various mods), but especially the bug report page so as to be sure that the mod is compatible and still supported by the developers.

Thanks, reading the description on NexusMod intrigued me, I'll try it during my second playtrough ;)

Are you sure? I just started in Toussant (deathmarch) with 100% completion so and I am only lvl 37. Does the area really have so much content?

I've played it through multiple times now, I lose count how many, and always end up around that. I make no attempt to grind or maximise experience but do 100%. I usually complete HOS and all the content of the main game apart from all the Skellige smuggler caches before heading for Toussaint but can't remember what level I usually am when I start B&W.

ALL the smuggler caches? I just can't find a good reason to explore off the beaten path much after the first 20 hours in Velen. I don't NEED anything, so I may as well stay more focused and get "more done" as far as questing is concerned.

I just can't imagine putting in the time to go and collect every dot on the map. If the many Ubisoft collectathon games (AC, Farcry, Watch Dogs, etc.) haven't convinced me 100% is worth it then I doubt Witcher 3 will either.

Honestly, I'm 100-something hours into W3 and getting exhausted already. Had to pick up a side-game.

The Smugglers caches in Skellige get left until I want to craft all that grandmaster armour in Toussaint. They can be done in around 5 sessions if you plan the route and realise that you don't have to worry about being overloaded in water. I did say I have to 100% this game although I'm not always like that. Don't look at my play time if you think 100 hours is exhausting.
