Blood on the Battlefield bug

Don't know how well known this is among users, but I felt I should mention it as a warning to anyone using an alchemy build doing this specific quest, at least on early patches of this game, such as the one I am playing on.

To start, it should be noted that I am running an alchemy-combat hybrid build, with minimal speccing into combat and focusing heavily on bombs and blade oils instead. The power of alchemy builds, especially the bomb branch, is exceptionally powerful. This becomes very evident when you take the choice to have a snowball fight with Ciri.

The snowballs used act as bombs, they are operated the same way just without an explosion. This is the reason this bug is able to occur. essentially since the snowballs are seen as bombs, they inherit all of your bomb skills. This would seem rather convenient, because it actually gives you 8 snow balls which is the amount of hits on Ciri needed to complete the quest. However, another bomb skill also increases the amount of damage your bombs deal, allowing you to three-shot and kill Ciri, with will require you to load a recent save. This can be completely avoided by letting her win the snowball fight, but I just thought it was rather interesting and worthy of a share.

You can kill anyone with one snowball... just hide a rock the size of your palm in it and aim for the head.
