Will this deleted my previous Witcher 1 - 2 save game import?
Hello guys, So I just joined the witcher 3 hype and it's awesome game and all but this is what's bothering me

So last year I've played witcher 3 a bit after I finished Witcher 1 and Witcher 2 (I played them only for the story) and I stopped playing witcher 3 because I was using old potato PC the specs was dual core and the vga was old too I didn't want to forced my potato to run the game so I decided to uninstall and played it until I have better PC. Now I do.

I started the game again, because the last save was rather bit confusing because I do not know where was the story I remembered, so it's better restarting the game than playing with continued confusing story, and then after I started again I just realized why don't they (the game) asks for witcher 2 save files? It just says "Stimulate your witcher 2 save?" By stimulate in my opinion isn't it just ignoring what your progress/decisions in past game and just move forward? Is it the save import works for only 1 game progress only?

This just bothers me so much, if it does then all of my witcher 1 and witcher 2 journeys were mean nothing at all!

Thanks

When you start a new game you will be given the option to import a witcher 2 save (if you have one make sure it is an auto save , the highest numbered one you have and NOT a manual save if you use a manual save it will start the witcher 3 with a default world state and maybe not the one you finished W2 with). If you dont have a save you can opt for the simulate option (on) where you will get the chance to carry over the choices you made in W2 by having a conversation with an npc after the prologue. if you set simulate to off it will load the default world state where you will not get the chance to have the conversation.

Oh I see, it's just I have been playing Bioware's video game, they usually asked for a save game location or to ask which one the latest save, when I started a new game and asked for stimulate witcher 2 save game the game just starts, it did not asked you to pick where was the latest save was, just straight up.

So.. by any chance you mean my previous game was imported?

if you selected "impoort the witcher 2 saved game" from the menu then you should have been presented on the right hand side of the menu with all your witcher 2 save files TW3 can find. You should have chosen the last auto save from the list with the highest number eg autosave_0631,then yes your game was imported if you selected simulate on then you will get the conversation where you can manually select your choices if you selected simulate off the you will get the default word state.

There was not any option of it! It just straight up to the game

I know there should an option where to choose which is which the last save game and that damn bothers me so much if it doesn't load the latest save, because it will means nothing the decisions I've made, choices etc and etc

By any chance can you tell me what "conversation" and default world state do you mentioned?
Russty Sep 15, 2018 @ 3:07am
then it looks like you will get the default world state in your play through then.

Do you think it's a bug? Or it's how just that works?

Im guessing you rushed through the start options and didn't realise you had skipped passed it.

To be honest the only thing of any significance is if letho is dead or not the choices you make in W2 have very little impact on TW3

Probably I was probably I'll double check it

About that video, I had the conversation earlier, does that mean my prev save game is imported?
Russty Sep 15, 2018 @ 3:20am
no that means that you chose to simulate a witcher 2 save so whatever answers you gave to Morvran will stand through your playthrough.

Oh well.

I just seen other video and it looks like I gotta install witcher 2 again to retrieve my save game.

This is sooooo bothers me so much
I just played half way now I'm with Keira looking for Ciri.
Hudson Sep 15, 2018 @ 3:23am
Good news my friend, I just realized I still have my earlier save game which is in 2017!!

And the save game was before I found Keira and before I'm going to Oxenfurt to find Bloody Baron's daughter..

I'm sooooo happy now man, I hope it still carries the previous save game
Russty Sep 15, 2018 @ 3:25am
well if you gave morvran the answers that you left W2 with then all is good no need to start again, but if you can't remember what you answered or gave wrong answeres from your point of view then well start again but thats your choice.
