It's not really a boss, but yes use silver sword with elementa oil applied if you have it and use quen, use dimeritium bombs too if you have them. How many levels lower are you than the golum and what level is your sword? They are factors in how much damage you do to it.

You might want to have gained a level or 2 before starting wandering in the dark and you definitely should be using a stronger sword, it will be a long hard fight with a level 1 sword. You have two options I suppose, carry on and try to finish the quest with what you have or reload your game before you started wandering in the dark and get better gear and level up a bit then try the quest again. If you carry on try using thunderbolt potion it might help(a bit).

Yeah yu need better gear that does more DAMAGE. This fight cen get quite frustrating otherwise.

The golem should be a pretty easy fight as Keira helps out a lot. Thunderbolt helps, as does dodging and rolling out of the way of its special attacks. Try to position yourself, as usual to its rear or side and hack away at it.

The fight with Nithral (the quest's boss) can be tough if you don't have patience. Never, ever attack it when it has that round sphere surrounding it. It will do massive damage to you. Instead, fight the Wild Hunt warriors that come through the portals. Then, once his shield is down, do the usual -- roll out of the way of his direct attacks, dodge to try and flank him and then wail on him, stopping again when he puts up his shield. That shield heals him but don't worry. You will take him down fairly easily so long as you don't try to attack him through it.
He's gonna need patience with a level 1 sword.

Edit:
If you play on DeathMarch difficulty: The key to the fight is damage.
The room is narrow and dark, you have to dodge all the time and you can get stuck on rocks. You don't have enough room to wait out stamina and recast quen in a comfortable manner (like you have in other fights... for example the Nithral fight!).

If you want it the easiest way, then you have to finish the golem quick. And you do that with more damage (sword+ele oil+thunderbolt).

The difference is litterally killing it in 1minute or spending an reloading hour on it.
It's just a mini boss so i wouldn't recommend.

But if it's your first playthrough, death march is only for the truly insane anyway.
Idk if the fists do damage to the golem but if, that would also be an option.
