No Stealth mechanics?
Surely Im just missing it but is there no way to crouch or any kind of stealth mechanics at all in this game? Getting tired of just trampling around loud as can be and alerting everything long before I can even see what it is.

No stealth mechanics whatsoever, other than not being seen.

Wait, what?

Ok so you mean to tell me that in a game that is mostly about hunting monsters... hunting.. hunting.. HUNTING(aka no stealth no realistic hunting no other option)... there is no stealth. There is however a confusing and boring as hell card game?

Tell me again how this has Overwhelmingly positive reviews?

I mean seriously.. how do you just leave out the main aspect of hunting? Stealth.

I think it is more about fighting monsters.

So every quest has you go investigate something and track down a monster. And then you have to kill said monster. Sometimes you even have to bate them in some way. Call it what you will. Sure sounds like the definition of hunting to me.

The game isn't a hunting simulation nor a stealth game. It isn't supposed to be realistic. Accept it for what it is instead of what it isn't and you'll enjoy it more.

Edit: And although Geralt is a Witcher which do hunt monsters, the game isn't REALLY about hunting monsters, it's about finding Ciri. Which just so happens to involve killing some monsters along the way.

The witchers don't use stealth to hunt monsters. That's it. Read the books want you will understand why.

Oh believe me.. Im trying.

Im aware of what the game is supposed to be.. you play as a Witcher, a dude that kills monsters for money. You run around accepting contracts that ultimately lead to hunting a monster down by using witcher senses to track/hunt, inspect claw marks, paw prints, follow scents, wounds in carcasses, etc... its a hunting a game.. whether it claims to be or not. And with hunting comes a few expectations.. tracking, killing, bating and stealth.

Not "Ho hum.. trample through da forest, oh hey look huge pack of something ahead.. lets just barge on into a fight to find out what it is shall we? Oops, bit more than I can handle better ru... nope I died."

And the Far Cry Games arent about stealth or taking down outposts.. you just happen to do some of that along the way. Right?

Edit: its not uncommon that the main story is unrelated to what makes a game fun. Just because the main story is about finding someone it doesnt mean the game is not a hunting game... in fact the game ia more a hunting game than it is a "find someon" game. We dont juat ignore the main gameplay for the story. If that were the case then you could simply just watch all the cut scenes and leave out any game play and walk away leaving the same rave review. But thats not the case. Its a game. Its meant to be played.

Sorry bro but geralt isnt a sneaker. Witchers just dont sneak. Its not something in their lore. Sneaking is not something that has to be in every single rpg. We get it. Sneaking is fun. This isnt the type of game that ya sneak in.

Aside from the fact that witchers are said to have heightned body movement control meaning they are very adept at not making sound when they walk run our what have you. Aside from that no there is no sneaking therefore no sneaking mechanics.

Witchers dont sneak around in crouched postions. They dont stay in the shadows. Therer flat out not sneakers lol The only thing that resembles sneaking for witchers is there ability to not make noise when they move. That is literally it. And there is no button for that either. Its more of a they automatically do it kinda thing.

Stealth is optional in Far Cry, as are monster contracts in the Witcher. Why exactly do you want stealth mechanics so badly? I'm asking genuinely, because as far as I'm concerned enough games have stealth mechanics, not every game needs them.

when/if those things happen in tw3 they're all scripted. tw3 doesnt've at all freedoms like eg fallout's fight/talk/sneak triplet to dealing with things.

well sure not as well as residents of brokylon :p but depending on where you find yourself stepping carefully may be advised. there's like two quests in tw3 where devs cared too :)

Well first off as I already pointed out.. its beyond annoying not being able to see what you're about to fight without trampling in and alerting it/them. And second its a hunting game... its an expectation that comes with a hunting game.

No not every game needs stealth. Im fine with that in many games.. some games have absolutely no use for it.
For instance.. and some games could have it but really dont need it. action RPG'S like path of exile.. MMORPGs like wow... most platformers, some FPS, classic RPGs, even some modern RPGs. But this game suffers from it. Its blatantly obvious and very unimmersive and annoying. Walking through the forest tracking some unknown beast every part of me wants to stay low, go slow, and be quiet to get eyes on it before engaging.. maybe come up with a plan before engaging.. but nope.. no can do.. instead: CRUNCH CRUNCH!!! TROMP TROMP!! "Hey ugly whatever you are im over here!!!"... just kinda kills the mood for me.
every1hasnames Feb 11, 2018 @ 4:59pm
Actually it would be very unimmersive if there were stealth mechanics in the witcher games as there is nothing in the witcher lore that states witchers sneak. They would be giving sneaking to people that literally dont sneak just so you as the player can just because you want to.
