Contract: Mysterious Tracks

I've gotten to the part where I need to pour bait around the hill in 4 locations, I didn't know what to do so I sought help on the internet and saw that I need to craft lures - but I don't have that recipe in my alchemy tab ... what am I to do?

I think i bought the recipe from a merchant in White Orchard or Velen. You're looking for the "chort lure".

You should have the recipe under your alchemy tab under the sub tab 'quests' - you dont' acquire it anywhere else, it should just show up in there. I think you needed to pick up dung & crow's eye as ingredients for the recipe and the dung is scattered around that cave area that you are already at.

Yeah, but one post said that I would learn it by doing the quest, but I haven't learned it nor is there a recipe in the cave I can loot ... I guess I'll just go to wherever I can buy the recipe

No, it should just show up in your alchemy tab. There are 3-4 quests like this in the game where you have to brew some kind of lure, or pheremones, etc. and you don't pick those recipes up anywhere, they just show up at the right time.

No, it should just show up in your alchemy tab. There are 3-4 quests like this in the game where you have to brew some kind of lure, or pheremones, etc. and you don't pick those recipes up anywhere, they just show up at the right time.

I don't see a "Quest" tab in my alchemy tab though :/

I can't pick up the dung, probably because I don't have the recipe

Hmm. Couple things you can try -

Try reloading an earlier save, perhaps right as you start the quest as something may be just acting a little buggy

OR

You can actually buy it at the merchant in Lindenvale (Velen) if it's not automatically showing up -

I've rebooted the game, and if that doesn't work I'l try a previous save file or just buy the damn recipe in Velen

Huh. I had the recipe in my alchemy tab for the longest time and didn't know what it was for, until i found this same quest last week. So you can definitely get it without starting the quest. Just a bit more info: once you craft the lure it shows up in your inventory under quest items and needs to be equipped to use.

The ingredients are easy to obtain, crow's eyes are around the area where the cave is.
