The blacksmith in Blackbough won't talk to me
It's obviously a glitch. I have tried quitting and reloading a (much) earlier save and it doesn't seem to help. Besides that, I can not interact with the book in Ciri's room (It's not marked in red). So I can not do this quest. Eventually I skipped that quest, but I can not keep playing without a blacksmith.
Anything I can do ?
Maybe I should just ask for a refund ?

He often does that. Meditating for a bit usually works.

You won't get a refund after 68 hours.

If you haven't already done so verify the integrity of the game files.

huh... I thought the blacksmight in Blackbough did that on purpose because he normally crafts farming gear than crafting swords for the village. But he dabbles a little bit in the other on the side during his off hours which is around 6pm in the evening. Because like you I wasn't able to interact with him till it was evening so I generally always go see him around that time and it seems to work. I figured it was because people seem to have a routine to them where they will go to bed to sleep at night.

As for your issue with the blacksmith in Blackbough, have you started a quest called Wild at Heart? If so, you may not be able to interact with him until you've finished it as he's part of the quest. Check your Journal.

And as far as the book is concerned, you may already have picked up the book without realizing it. Check your Inventory. It may be under Quest Items instead of with the regular books. The book's title is The Natural Obscurity of Curses. You need to read it to progress in the Ciri's Room quest.

Many thanks for your help.
