Witcher gear, Griffin gear, keep it or sell it?
What to do with outdated Griffin gear? Swords, armor...the text says it can be upgraded to master class...do I have to keep these old items for later use or can I smith them again?

I already found an advanced Griffin something but my level is still too low (level 17).

I carry so much with me.

All green ones?

Thank you! :)
Or choose only one school to follow all the way from the start and sell everything else, 'cause there is no need changing armors, even swords once you chose the best one according to your playstyle. Those upgrades cost money, loads of it, and you going to need it somewhere else...
I went Griffin, for I wanted to have a versatile Witcher, good at magic and swords at the same time. Perfect choice for me up to the end.
Including some Griffin mods making the base game armor looking so much better...

Griffin is for a sign build, a more balanced Witcher would go for the Wolf gear, even though the Grandmaster perks aren't great.

Keep them in your chest. It's a pain in the ass to craft them again later on when you plan on upgrading them.

I want to play a mixed character...weapon skills and magic (fire and shield).

You might be right, it's been a long time I haven't touch the game. But I'm more of a magic kind of player anyway, so what you said doesn't really surprise me.
By the end Geralt barely ever used his swords. I suppose that does qualify for a sign build, very true. Nevertheless, I remember always leveling up by systematically balancing between signs and swords.
Also, I always tend to keep my game as simple as possible, my only concerns being story and beauty. So, yes, one school only, and get rid of the superfluous.
Nothing but my motto...

I found the magic being amazingly strong in the late game. Of course I'm like frenchifying, for exaggerating, everything, but no quite untrue...

I beg to differ, my Geralt doesn't even unsheathe swords anymore. I'm level 16 atm but I went and started clearing higher level quests ahead of my level because I'm capable to take down anything with magic, and that's on hardest difficulty mind you.

But it comes at a price. Your adrenaline needs cool down periods each time you use a sign.
Do you mean stamina (the yellow bar)? The red bar is adrenaline and afaik it boosts physical damage as you build adrenaline points. But with a few brown skills you can refit adrenaline into second magic reservoir. Hell, I haven't even done that yet, have dedicated 24 skills to the sign tree, and I have no trouble with stamina. If I gulp down stamina restoring potion I can even spam all the signs with 2 second intervals.
That, on top of +147% sign intensity from the mutagens and griffin armor skill and armor, and Geralt turns into pyromaniac that can take down enemies 10 levels higher than him. Although I don't simply scorch everything, I also use quen a lot to safenet myself from a failed dodge and alternate irden to interrupt enemy attacks and zap down flying monsters.
Magic skill tree is the most interesting one because it gives you new alternate signs instead of just flat stat increase of other skill trees.

I have to ask something again. After buying some treasure maps from blacksmiths I unlocked a couple of quests...now found everything needed for cat gear...but the next griffin items start at level 18 too (I am level 18). What should I go for? Is it playstyle only?

Or do you choose something you meet the requirements for, then jump to something else later? I could not go for griffin gear as it started being worse than other items but I could not upgrade it either due to too low level.

I play a all around character, swords and magic.

PS the feline cape looks silly...I don't want to cover my hair.

Can I ask a similar question as well?
In the end, is any non Witcher school gear vendor trash/disassemble?
I often ask myself why I keep so much armour/weapons in my stash, wondering if they can be usefull later ingame. They have their unique look, but I have a feeling it's all cosmetics.

The devs did a great job making this game true to it's previous Witcher storyline but, I'm not sure what to do with all this abundance loot.

Use the gear for your playstyle. You can sell/ trash/ disassemble the rest. For fast sword style with the most damage, Cat is the best. If you really hate Cat, you can use Wolf instead; it's pretty balanced for all playstyles. If you use a sign build, use Griffin, strong sword attack/ tank build, Ursine. Manticore is available in B&W for the alchemy users.

If you look at the bonuses once you fully upgrade the sets, they make a difference depending on build. It's not just cosmetic.

Yes, it´s just that in Normal difficulty any silly build works. In harder ones however, specially in Hearts of Stone, you are screwed in boss fights.

Thanks! Can you also mix gear, for example feline gear but something different so you don't wear the cape?
