The Man Who Defeated a Higher Vampire (Blood and Wine)
During that quest where Geralt escorts Anarietta along with Capt. Moustache, Geralt mentioned that he knows only one man who once defeated a higher vampire. Sooo, any idea who it was? Don't tell me it's Vesemir.

Just curious.

Ahh. I see.
Well I probably will never read the books anyway so I don't mind the spoilers.
Thanks for the answer.

Didn't Eskel mention killing one at some point. I've not read the books though. Unsure if the lore is different.

In the drinking scene at kaer morhen. Or at least around that point. I might be wrong tho.

Ah, that wasn't a higher vampire. It was a katakan.

I thought the two were seperated.

Katakans, ekimmaras and alps are more like primitive cousins to higher vampires. Higher vampires are much more similar to humans. They often resemble humans in appearance and are highly intelligent and tend to be more sociable as well. A witcher's medallion will not react in a higher vampires presence. And they are immortal. They also do not need to drink blood in order to survive.
I know what they are. What i meant was the him killing a higher vampire and him killing the katakan both occured.

I think the confusion is that you have the "Higher Vampires" from the original game, the ones from Blood & Wine and the ones from the book. All of which are a bit different.

JMHO but give the books a read. They're worth it.
