Again you don't know what you are talking about.
If you have killed the Slyzards prior to doing the quest. Geralt will remark upon the fact that he has already killed the Slyzards when he enters the hunting ground.
Are you sure that you aren't directed to return back to the quest giver? Did you follow the trails all the way up to the hunting ground?
I did the same thing during my first playthrough; killed the Slyzards prior to taking the contract. I simply followed the quest and then just returned to the quest giver when Geralt says that he has already killed the Slyzards.
I second this.
Almost impossible to deduce your problem with the level of detail you are giving in your descriptions. Create a video or something showing the problem and then we might be able to help you in regards to whether it is a bug or not.
