....................................................................SPOILER ......................................................................
If you decide to kill Radovid and... let dijkstra take over (meaning you have to let him kill Roche and Ves) he will put an end to the Witch Hunters and becomes king of Redania and unites north, which i believe is the best ending for north
- Why Radovid supports them? - Eternal fire and witch hunters are based in Novigrad, the pearl city of the world, containing huge amount of gold, soldiers / sellswords and naval fleet. It is mentioned numerous times that whoever takes over Novigrad wins the Third Northern War (between Nilfgaard and Radovid's Realms). These 2 factions had fought recently against each other and both lost countless numbers of their soldiers. Their power and situation is almost equal at that point. Radovid knows that if he supports the Eternal Fire and witch hunters he can get almost free pass to Novigrad and its benefits while also gaining power and executing his own personal vengeance against mages. He succeeds and can peacefuly sit behind Novigrad walls and wait while Nilfgaards troops loose their supplies and numbers and will to fight (Emhyr is cut of financially from his country support because of domestic opposition against him => Radovid has time while Emhyr does not).
- Are people sutisfied with Radovid's actions? - In short → yes. They are extremely racist and need to take their load and stress off during war time on someone. These someone are anything allien to the human race - mages, nonhumans, pellars etc. You can even find people encouriging Radovid by saying :"Praise Radovid, hail the witch hunters!" or "Radovid is a stern ruler but a just one.". He is basically Hitler of medieval era.
- Who is the better strategist in this war and is winning? - Radovid.
- So who is better? Nilfgaard or Redania? - Tough question as Emhyr started the whole war through regicide assassinations while giving blame to witchers and mages - you can say the whole witch hunts started because of him. Is or was Emhyr genocidal towards nonhumans as well? → yes, he was. Did he try to kill Geralt? → yes, he did. Is he a stern and strict ruler? → yes, he is. Is he a ♥♥♥♥ and jerk? → yes, he is. Is he sane? → yes, he is absolutely. His priorities? → his country, reasons of state.
Is Radovid racist? → maybe as he doesn't care about witch hunters killing nonhumans alongside mages, he just financially supports them. Is he strict and stern? → like Joffrey from Game of thrones. Did he try to kill Geralt? → yes, he did. Is he a ♥♥♥♥ and jerk? → yes, he is. Is he sane? → No, he went insane because of Philippa Eilhart torturing him during his childhood and killing his father after which Radovid become extremelly paranoid. His priorities? → himself more than anything or anyone else.
-Back to the main question → none of them is an angel or a preferable ruler. They are both bad. Their actions are not black and white but all out grey. But there is an option ingame which lets you choose from another 2 persons (I won't spoil) to rule the world instead of them.
Wow, too woke...
