Most keys no longer responding
Hello Witcher 3 Discussion Board,

I am in need of help. I am currently trying to play The Witcher 3 and finish the game (I am currently on the quest On Thin Ice if that could maybe help?). I came across the issue of me being unable to walk. After I attempted to unplug my keyboard as well as my mouse this issue was not fixed. I then proceeded to delete user.settings which some people claimed to be the source of the issue, but this caused Geralt to keep walking without me being able to control him, let alone stop him. Upon further experimentation, I noticed that literally all letter and number keys do not work. I can only use keys like escape, backspace, spacebar, and tab.

If anyone has any ideas that can help me it would be much appreciated, and I am sorry for posting here, I felt as though this would be the best place to get help.

For context: I have absolutely no mods installed onto the game. I just have the DLC installed and that is it, I am playing on Patch 1.31.

Some ideas:

* Loading an earlier save - as usual

* Options -> Keybindings -> Change some keys -> Reset to Default [R] -> save -> Shut down the game -> Reload doesn't help?

* Exchange keyboard

* Install the actual drivers for your keyboard from the manufacturer

* Verify integrity of game files

First off, I want to say thank you for taking the time to respond to my post, it means a lot!

In response to a few of your suggestions:
1. Yes I loaded to an earlier save, it was the first thing I actually did.
2. Yes did that too. I ended up shutting her down a few times, Im currently reinstalling it after I uninstalled the game.
3. This was actually the base keyboard that came with the PC, I have been thinking about buying a new one actually.
4. Maybe 3 answers this idea?
5. If I reinstall it and it is having the same issues I will try this.

I actually made an observation before uninstalling. This was the fact that the E button won't work on the home screen when I attempt to select something, I have to use the left click. I also noticed that when I try to rebind keys on the main menu, all the letter keys are not being responded too. I think it has something to do with the game maybe? I will further experiment to see if it works or not once it is reinstalled.

Thank you for your suggestions though!

you can test keyboard by typing in notepad or word. if keyboard's fine (incl cables) then must be tw3 config's borked somewhere.

Just make sure it's not a hardware issue (ex. keyboard). Reinstalling the game should fix the issue imo. It's probably best once the game has installed, to start a new game to the point where you can save/load the game. Then afterwards copy your previous save game to the proper folder.

Thank you two for the help, I was able to solve the issue, but I greatly appreciate the help!
