When you use the sword, every 10th hit without you getting hit in return will level up the sword by 2. You can keep increasing the sword's level in this way until you reach the sword's maximum potential level.

The sword's maximum potential level will keep increasing as you level up until you reach your level cap of 100. That will give you the sword's final maximum level and you can keep levelling it up until you reach that maximum level.
So,I'm currently at level 41.If I use the use sword now,my maximum potential will be less. But if I use it after getting to 100,my maximum potential will be more?
If you use the sword now the final maximum potential will be the same as if you didn't use the sword until level 100. The maximum potential at any moment will increase as you level yourself up until you reach 100.

You should start to use the sword straight away so that you keep levelling up the sword and keep it at the maximum potential for that time all the time. ie as soon as you level up, you then level up the sword by 10 points. So the sword will never more than 10 points below it's current maximum potential.

If you don't use it until you are level 100 then the sword will be well below it's potential and you will have to level it up by possibly hundreds of points before it reaches the maximum.

So use it and level it up as you go, the end result will be the same.

When doing an equation PEMDAS stands for each part, in order of which you have to do first. P is parentheses, E is exponents, M is multiplication, A is add, S is subtract. For example, 6÷2(1+2). First you'd add 1+2, which is 3. The the equation would be 6÷2×3. Now you do 2×3 which is 6. And then 6÷6=1.

Elswhere its called BODMAS, brackets other division multiplication addition subtraction.

IIRC the max damage depends on your level, so as you level up, that max goes up, too. You charge up the sword through fighting. Then, when the sword is charged and you kill a monster, the sword damage goes up some, permanently. Taking damage removes the charges from the sword, so Quen is your friend. The drill ends up being: 1. You Level up 2. You farm Skellige wolf packs with Silver sword or at later levels those giant spiders work well.

Thanks. This max potential stuff and how it works can be confusing.Didn't want to make a mistake now and regret it later.
