Audio Issues
A lot of the voice lines in dialogue or from passerby is kinda distorted, or broken up, like its lagging. But my gameplay isn't experiencing any lag, just my audio. Is this a known issue? Any recommendations on how to fix this?

Do you have surround sound headset?

No, I don't use a headset for singleplayer games. I have a 2 speakers connected to each other and plugged into the computer for audio.

I assume "Verify Integrity of Game Cache" ? I'm trying it now

I've got the same problem with the audio lags sometimes... Did you already find a solution?

Having the same issue, it's fairly annoying.
Subscribed to thread in case a solution pops up.

Surround sound audio devices have problems, so you should set them to STEREO from control panel (or download a fix online). Otherwise, I don't know what to say. Maybe it is an old/bugged mod, maybe it is a corrupted file, maybe it is something with your device/audio driver that is unsupported. Have you guys tried other options?

Haven't fixed it yet, haven't found a solution. I'll try what Ozone said but I am leaving for a trip so I won't be able to test it

I think it's ok, in russian localization we have the same problem with pitching, it sounds odd

Any solution to this? I am desperate.

I'm having the same issue. The audio works fine when I initially start the game but then this starts up after a could of minutes. The audio doesn't complete all of what the subtitles are showing like it timed out. It has a crackly/static sounding noise but the audio is understandable. I don't have surround sound, just the speakers built into my laptop.

I still haven't found a solution. This thread is still unanswered.

But they're no longer working on the game. Last patch was released September 1, 2016. Any issues still in the game will remain there, unaddressed.
Maybe other people who experienced this and found a fix? It seems weird that a common issue like this has gotten into the permanent structure of the game and will remain unfixed. There's probably a solution that I haven't found yet, and that's why I'm keeping this open

I've resolved my issue. Turns out my audio card was overheating. I cleaned out the fans/heatsinks and the problem went away.
