Can I transfer my GOG save to Steam?
I have The Witcher 3 on gog but the Game of the Year edition cost around the same on steam that the expansion pass cost on gog. So I'm thinking about buying the steam version. Can I transfer my save to steam and play from where I left off?

Yes, the saves are stored in your documents folder, so you should able to use them on the steam version as well.

Awesome, thank you!, So do I just drag the save over to the steam saves or should it pick it up automatically?
After i had uninstalled Steam-TW3 and then had installed one taken from GOG it picked up my saves automatically from my documents folder. I suppose it should be the same if you migrate from GOG to Steam as the game is almost the same :)

if you are going to uninstall the game first, make sure you backup your saves (sometimes the uninstall process can also delete savefiles with it). but in theory you shouldn't have to do anything, the game will use the same exact folder for both versions.

Let's say you successfully transfeed the save files from GoG to Steam. Will you still get achievements from Steam for past and future missions?

Hello, I did it. I transffered the save files from D:documents\witcher 3\save games where it's a gog version to the C: to steam version. Now my game doesn't open.

Renato Albrecht did you get it to work in the end?
