Is there a way to fast travel without using a sign post?
I have NO recollection of how I even got here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=820550589

I've tried jumping everywhere to find a place that I can actually crawl out of but to no avail. I, unfortunately, deleted all my previous saves but this and I reaaaaaaally do not want to restart again. :steamsad:

Alright, thank you for your reply! I'll check it out.

So, I downloaded the mod called "Fast Travel from Anywhere" and even created a folder for the specific mod and extracted my files in there. But, when I launch the game, I still cannot fast travel to my desired destination. Er, any tips on how I can possibly make it work? I'm new to downloading mods and such.

like i said you will still need to use the sign post that you have discovered as your target location. you just dont have to ride to a sign post to use fast travel. you can be in middle of a large forest and be 1000 meters away from a sign post and can fast travel to a sign post.

Oof, you're definitely in a glitched location. The game is still super buggy, you absolutely NEED to keep a backlog of saves when playing any open-world game, especially TW3.

Did you follow the install instructions from the mod to the letter? I.e.,

"Install Manually: extract modFastTravelAnywhere to your The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\Mods folder (create it if you do not have it)."

It should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

double click the "mods" folder (or create it)

then paste the folder "modFastTravelFromAnywhere" in its entirety there.

If that still doesn't work... oof, you may need to restart.

program files > steam > steamapps > common > the witcher 3 > tw3 mods > fast travel from anywhere

Just tried as you suggested and it did not work. Welp! Lesson learned. It's always good to save in case you run into problems later on.

Well, the folder NEEDS to be called "mods" (no quotes) alone or your game will not be able to read it.

your final file structure should look like this: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\mods\modFastTravelFromAnywhere

it needs to be exact, sadly. this is just how files in Windows work :-/

Oh! OK, let me try that.
lilac Dec 18, 2016 @ 1:08am
OK, so now mine looks exactly like the one you've written except instead of "The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt," mine just says "The Witcher 3" under common and I can re-write it. But everything else looks the same. Sadly, it did not work for me although I wish it did. The YouTube video of the mod totally could save me the replay of the game, but I just don't think it is possible to make it work. I appreciate you taking the time to reply though, thanks!

That's really sad :-/. Oh well, so it goes I guess.

Remember that if games have multiple save spots available, it is imperative to alternate between at least 3.

WOW. Win 10 store officially sucks with programs claiming to extract 7z files and that's what I used to extract my files with to paste it into my mods folder. Just for future reference, do not use them. I was able to get out of that hellhole once I extracted the files using winrar instead!

While the mod is useful, I don't think I will be using it anymore because I do like exploring and I've found many items / monsters that way. :-)

I'm so happy now that I can continue from where I left off you guys have no idea. Honestly, kudos to the dev who created that mod.

You might want to use 7z to extract 7z files. It's free.
