And unless I'm off-my-rocker you'll need to use at least one of their swords even if you have their crossbow for that full 6 item bonus. Which seems hellishly pointless with other awesome blades floating about.

Before, when I only had the base game and Hearts of Stone, I never saw the grandmaster text. It began showing up when I tacked on Blood and Wine. So no, never had that issue. I agree though, that would be highly irritating lol.
Run into a bandit camp with a jar of grease like that and I can garuntee record clearing time.
Really haven't understood how to unlock grandmaster for armor and weapons.
