Well he asked, didn't he?

You could have said that it references a key plotpoint in the second witcher game.

Actually, there are no _golden_ dragons in games. This is a reference to the books, to the story of Geralt meets Villentretenmerth.

Geralt never wanted to kill him, however he is considered a part of the group sent to hunt Villentretenmerth down. The dragon lives, Geralt lives - that means to folk that someone spared someone's life. Also there's always the Dandelion factor.

P.S.: I insist it was in the books, because i did read it in the "Sword of Destiny" tome.

there are two golden dragons saskia and Villentretenmerth later is too powerful

Saskia is daughter of Villentretenmerth. She appears in tw2. Btw she is not a golden dragon but acquired the skill of morphing into other animals (she appears as human) from her father. In TW2 she becomes queen of some free state but things happen and a fight starts and you can decide to spare her

The golden dragon that gets mentioned TW3 is indeed Villentretenmerth, that appears in a short story in the first or second book from the witcher. He doesn't appear in the videogames.I didn't know about graphic novels but they probably come from the books too.
Anyway Geralt doesn't kill dragons as it's against "his code", in the book he partecipate in a dragon's hunt because he discovers that Yennefer was partecipating too. But the dragon is really strong and noone from the expedition manages to kill him. In the end him and Geralt talk and he decides not to fight

Sucks not having Saskia or Iorveth in this one, but I can understand.

I know this is kind of old but you got in it the backfoot. Saskia is a Golden Dragon that took the form of a human called Saskia. Only Golden Dragons can change shape like that. It is also her dream that you take from the Hapries nest, the dream of a dragon.
