Ves Quest incredibly difficult

So I tried the quest where Ves charges in to a pack of Nilfgardians and you have to rescue her. In spite of being seven levels higher than the enemies, it was an absolutely brutal fight. I failed it on the first try and had to reload, and even then I was having to pull out all of the stops to get them to die. I thought maybe since I hadn't played in a while I got worse at the game, but it was still odd to have so much trouble with what should have been a 'cross it off the list' quest.

After the fight I was selling loot, and I noticed that the trash swords were +100 damage over mine. I then realized I still had a blunted sword equipped from helping Dandelion get his loan, and the fact that I wasn't using a real weapon might just have been why the quest was so hard for me to finish.

The quest is still a little hard even with good weapons because Ves dies so easily and if you somehow trip over the scenery while running into the town she'll almost certainly die.

True, can happen. Also if start killing the Nilfgardian from the edge of the village instead of running past the first couple of groups to aid Ves immediately.

I found this quest to make me less sympathetic of her. Not because of the difficulty; she's just a terrible soldier and a questionable person. Nice body though.

Perhaps on DM but on B&BB it was super straightforward even without running past everyone...

It seems like if you try to fight the guys on the way in you have trouble winning, if you run up to her they attack you enough that she won't die even if it takes forever to kill them. And yes, she came off as really stupid to me, doing a suicidal charge for no reason.

I'm pretty sure the only quest the Crimson Avenger can handle is the one with the fake Witcher :)

? I never considered this to be very hard . I got it first go around. I found that moronic escort side quest much harder in my opnion. It is like that guy had a death wish. he barely has any HP.

The quest is easy, the hardest escort quest in the game will be Bitter Harvest. CD Project Red totally forgot to buff the guy that is suppose to be protected in that quest.
