Most overrated game in gaming history?
So this is just my opinion. I own the game on GOG, but I thought I would post it here, considering I'm mainly on Steam. This is not meant to flame the 'best game ever created', according to many. It's to criticize the many flaws it has (again, in my opinion), which never seems to be brought up.

- Main story is horrible. 50 Hours of "go here to find Ciri, and get told that she's at the next place'
- Environments/World is extremely repetitive and bland. Including the NPC's. They all look the same. It's like they only created 4 character models, and put different clothing on them. They created 2 different trees and rocks, and put them all over the place.
- Boring quests. Basically glorified fetch quests. They just added some extra steps to or dialogue around them.
- Combat is horrible. I don't even think I need to go into this one.
- Not getting rewarded for exploration. There's not much to find in the giant world. A lot of copy-paste (side quest) stuff, but no interesting secrets.

There are of course some things that I think the game does well, like some of the creative monsters and the graphics. However, this is definitely not a 9 or 10 out of 10 game. A 7 or 8 top.

How many of you actually finished the game? There must be a reason that the majority of players never finished this game, including myself. I actually had a better time playing Dragon Age Inquisition (and finished it), while that had loads of flaws as well (like the horrible, horrible(!) side quests). Dragon Age Inquisition was interesting to explore though and it had something refreshing to offer compared to other RPG's (like judging criminals). You could find many interesting secrets, or the world/environment was just amazing to look at. The main story was a bit cliche, but way more interesting to follow. Why did people put that game down?

What?
Mwuahahahaha!
What, you found them too hard? Not casual enough? Made you think before fighting? You couldn't solve every problem with applying quen? How sad for you! :steammocking:

There is a reason why W3 tried to immitate DS combat and is often critiqued for trying and failing to be a DS clone combat wise.

No, just boring, slow and generally stupid. Did you play Witcher3 on baby mode? You know theres other difficulty then easy?

The best review of W3 by far - unbiased and accurate.

Worst review guy i ever seen, can't he talk a bit faster? But if you like him so much, then you might want to take a look on what he said about risen2 and Dark Souls

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEZzVsAabZw

He actually reviewed DS as one of the best games he's played. But sure.

And you wouldn't like him because he has a backbone and Escapist doesn't care for mass comformity like IGN, Gamespot and PC Gamer does.

But those are God to you since they gave W3 nothing but stellar reviews.

Anyone pointing out the games obvious flaws is a blasphemous idiot, accordibg to you, ain't it? Pffft

Nothing wrong with pointing out the flaws of a game, its actually the first thing i check when im interested in a game, but i dont use his review's as a resource, i look at negative review's on steam (from people that has put alot of time into the game) as well as gameplay video's on youtube. Im not affected with review's at all, i have my own opinions on how a game should be for me. And if the review's are made by a crybaby, well, that makes it pretty much worthless. Plenty of crybabies on youtube, as well as steam forums, like the post rioDa pointed out.

I wonder when you people will get bored of the constant bickering that just boils down to:

Poster 1: You're an idiot.
Poster 2: Nuh uh. You're an idiot.

How in god's name is that in ANY way a representation of the Dunning-Kruger Effect? I mean, your use of Dunning-Kruger Effect is closer to the Dunning-Kruger Effect than your complaint.

Grammar asside - angry much?
My playtime in Witcher 3 speaks to the OP's question.
It's great RPG single-player game.
Anyone who has an opposing opinion is free to feel that way.
But as far as I'm concerned: CD Projekt Red gave me great value for my money.
Better value than most of the gaming industry is offering for triple A's these days.
Inquisition is a good game. I'm about 170 hours into this one on my first playthrough, on Blood and Wine and sometimes I hate it. Mostly I love it though. It's not a perfect game but it deserves to be spoken in the same breath as DAI and Skyrim. All would be better if they were like the other. None are better than the other. Get it? All are missing something the other one has and all 3 should be in your library if this is what you like..No, the game is not overrated.
