How do I kill the arch griffin?

I need to kill an arch griffin for a quest, He keeps killing me once he gets below half health with that screaming ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that Breaks my quen shield, I'm level 19 And I need this dude dead, How do I kill him?

Avoid that screaming, roll, use crossbow when he's in air for a "mini-stun", also use oils and some potions to restore vigor and increase damage.

u need quen intenisty, enchanced swallow, white honey, white raffards decoction, hybrid oil and pressing alt alot.

I beat it, And it was 28 not 48

I play thru the potion skill bar. Potions make u tanky and better. DId my first play on the hardest difficulty this way. Yes I had to grind to finish some game moments but it was a truly amazing experience

I know I am necro-ing this thread a lot but I was just cheesing the arch griffin while level 14, using the igni flamethrower and constantly refreshing quen for safety (while using the rock ledge/alcove below the nest for cover)--I got it down to 35-40% health and then it literally disappeared from the map for half a minute or so (I could still hear it but like it had gone off after some goats or something) no shadow or sight of it. Then when it reappeared it was at full health again. I know I'm not supposed to fight it until much later, but having worked out how to do it early, and having spent some time carefully whitling it's health down, I was annoyed to discover it was a cheat.

WTF, I carefully damage the beast, using everything at hand, crossbow, bombs, signs etc. Then when it's nearly dead it just flies up and get all it's health back?! WTF!

Did u solve the problem? It just happened to me too. After 15 mins of fighting it came back with full hp.
