Is it just me, or is the Runewright 100% useless?
I was pretty excited when I met him. Better upgrades for my weapons and armor? Sign me up! So I poured a fortune into setting up his shop, and not a SMALL fortune, either! Once I actually got a look at what he was selling, though... it's all junk! ALL of it! Most of the enchantments sound stupidly useless to begin with, and even the ones that look good on paper turn out to be pointless once you actually try them. Heck, even the new Runes he sells are pointless!

I'm running a Sign-heavy built, so I figured the Eruption-enchantment would come in handy. Burning enemies exploding all over the place, right? Nope! It only procs if the enemy die from the Igni itself or the Burning DoT. If you cut someone down while they're on fire, nada. I tried putting the Preservation-enchantment on one of my swords, figuring that a permanent attack AND defense-buff would be eminently worthwhile... buuuut nope, it might stop the Armorer's Table/Grindstone buffs from expiring normally, but they still disappear whenever you Meditate. So you still need to frequently go out of your way to refresh the buffs, making it more of a hassle than anything else.

And last but not least, I got a Greater Glyph of Reinforcement (on my pants), and had hoped that'd mean I wouldn't have to fix up my blades every other fight anymore. Nope, doesn't seem to have made any difference. From the looks of things, it only improves the durability of whatever bit of armor it's set in - so hey, my pants are in great shape, at least!

Bah. I'd honestly expected more from something that was added as paid DLC AND cost a fortune in in-game currency. A LOT more. Like maybe being remotely worthwhile!

The only enchantment I found useful was the deflection one. Being able to completely ignore archers, instead of having to chase them down first in a big melee, is just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ nice.

Ya, IMO, for the most part I didn't like the stuff he was selling - he should've been giving you anything you wanted for free, too after you gave him as much as $$ as you do.

fast attack builds might benefit from levity and another rune i already forgot that extends range of whirl or something similar. but it's tricky bargain you're always trading all glyphs in piece for one rune.

Not useless but it's usefullness is minimal.

I only used it in my 3rd play, yeah it's almost useless, i only like the enchantment of swords that gives rhe power of the last sign

I actually tried that Runeword that gives added range to Whirl - but once again, it proved problematically limited. Only works while using whichever sword the Runeword is on, so if you want it to be effective against human AND monsters, well, you'll need to buy TWO copies of it - and lock yourself out from any other sword-based enhancements in the process. If that wasn't the case, I'd be willing to call it 'pretty good'.

But yeah. The 'Deflection' Glyphword for armor, that's really the only good thing there - and that's a 1st-level enchantment. So the smart thing to do is to give him the 5K to start with, and find the Jade he asks for - then tell him to go hang when he asks for more money.
