missing in action quest, dune isn't appearing.

i wanted to do this quest as i had finished all other side story stuff in first area, but even after reloading the game, fast travelling away from the village and back due isn't sitting at his hut talking to his dog.
is there any known fix or should i just go on and leeave in incomplete

I'm pretty sure a few things in White Orchard disappear if you leave there after you've killed the griffin. I think this quest is one of them. In fact I think you can find the Nilfgaardian soldier dead in that hut, probably the brother too. They probably starved to death.

Added: On Death's Bed also because unavailable if you leave because Lena dies from her wounds without your Swallow potion.

Okay so you didn't finish it yet or leave the area. Odd. You sure you're at the right hut at the Ransacked Village? I don't know what to tell you. If reloading it didn't help, it may just be glitched. Sorry.

I think you may be able to trigger it by finding the brother on your own but it may mean that the deserter dies. You could try that at least since you can't trigger it normally. Good luck.

thanks for the advice. i'll try just going to the brother and if it doesn't work i'll just restart.
