Cannot equip horse gear?

I'm confused if I'm doing something wrong or found a bug. I'm apparently unable to equip any horse items, although a cutscene with the cockatrice shows Geralt putting the trophy on Roach. I've tried bieng on the horse, off the horse and next to him, as well as just not being anywhere nearby. I'm also on level 10, so restarting is out of the question.

Go to your inventory and the equipment for Roach is in your food items menu. It should be on the right from your food.

That's an absolutely ridiculous statement. Just because someone doesn't know how something functions inside a videogame doesn't mean he has a low IQ. And last i checked an IQ rating doesn't have a 'videogame geekiness' scale attached to it. Some of us here didn't come out of the womb holding a mouse and keyboard!

Similarly, one would assume intelligence increases with age. But reading some of the comments made by some 'mature' members makes me wonder...

Not using the default armor set..but thanks for the vote of confidence.

When I go to drag/drop the gear it either never actually drops on the slot. The cursor changes like equipping normal armor and items, but it never applies the items.

What am I doing wrong? I'm equipping it like I would anything else. I took a video but was getting an error iploading it to a hosting site. I'll try again and post it if it works

I'm having this issue too now. Started a new game and the first saddle I get and try to equip it, simply won't work. Guess I'll start another new game. AGAIN.

I tried starting a new "fresh start" game and it didn't fix it. But for some reason, when I start a new blood and wine only game, the issue doesn't occur. Downright baffled.

I agree, its also bricked for me and cant put on any horse related equipment and i've just started playing yesterday and thought it was a mod conflict but it doesn't seem like it with my tests and i'm glad i'm not the only one with this problem as of recently xd

Incredibly baffling. It looks like what happens is that at some point during the start of the game, Roach loses his starting saddle and from then on you can't equip anything on her anymore. What is even more confusing is that this game hasn't been updated for years and the problem is not resolved by removing ALL mods. No idea what is going on here, but I am going to re-install the game and get to White Orchard without any mods and see if that solves the problem...

I'm having the same problem, still in White Orchard. My Roach also became a unicorn at some point, but I can see the original skin's brown mane and tail poking through. Really odd.

Sounds like something is wonky. I am not having this issue, but my current game was started a good while ago.

Try the following:

1. Go to a place with a storage box
2. EMPTY Roach's inventory into the storage box
3. Go into your inventory and see if you can take anything off of Roach.
4. Once the horse is completely empty (nothing in her slots) and you have no horse gear in your inventory, save and reload. This of course means if you *were* able to get anything off Roach, you need to put it into storage.

5. Go into storage and take out ONE piece of horse gear (doesn't matter what slot).
6. Exit storage and see if you can now drag and drop it onto Roach.
7. If you still can't drag and drop, see if you can just double click it.

I don't know if this will work for Witcher, but I used it once for a bug in Skyrim that wouldn't let me equip any swords (was not mod related, seemed like a bit got flipped in a game file somewhere on an unmodded save).
