Each enemy needs use of certain signs and moves.
You must look at the visiblity of the enemy. Specters when they go colourless and blury take almost no damage and are not stunned/ inturupted by attacks. Yrden will force them out of this state, although they will sometimes do this regardless.
I did the tutorial and all the other tasks I had to do, no idea about most of what you guys have said.
I will look further in to it.
Did you follow the other advices mentioned above?
Preparation: Specter oil for the silver sword.
Yrden is very important in this early stage of the game. Not to catch the specter, but to materialize it. It's pointless to attack it in the ghost-form.
So cast Yrden and trap it - then attack it.
At certain points of the fight her three little sisters will appear. Kill them as fast as possible. They are weak, but they transfer lifepoints from Geralt to the specter.

This is not the same fight, but the techniques are exactly the same.
By now I have finished the quest.
Thanks for your help.
