Aerondight... scale per level?
I just found out it is "the best sword in the game"!?
I'm lvl 46 rn
Is a lvl 70 Aerondight better?
or doesnt it matter because this sword scales anyway?

As long as you keep it always up to date (always get the 10 bonus dmg per lvl up of your character) it is the exact same dmg

With each hit you do with aerondight it gets 1 stack which increases its dmg by 10% ... so lets say you hit a mob 3 times, it deals 30% more dmg, after you get 10 stacks it does 100% more dmg and each hit is a crit, and if you kill an enemy while at 10 stacks it will use up the stacks and permanently increase aerondights dmg by 2. Just dont get hit while having any stacks, because you loose half of them when getting hit.

I am not a fan of Aerondight. Then again, I use the AMM mod for graphics on my weapons, so the only thing Aerondight had going for it, to me was the slightly higher damage.

Instead, I played around with a full quen build using mutegens that feed sign damage then a perk that adds to my sign damage by multiplying it off my sword attack damage, and putting attack damage runes in my ursine swords to gain the massive sign damage bonus from a full 6 piece bear set. When I hit shield timed just right, the damage that enemies (esp bosses) do to themselves attacking me is higher than anything I can do with any weapon in the game.

so its the best sword because i can permamently increase the damage and upgrade it to a level 70 damage sword in comparison while i am still level 46~50?

so its the best sword because i can permamently increase the damage - Yes

and upgrade it to a level 70 damage sword in comparison while i am still level 46~50? - No: Explanation: If you get the sword at lets say lvl 46 it has x amount of damage (idk the numbers from the top of my head) and you can increase that dmg by 10 per lvl .. so at lvl 46 it can have X+ 10 dmg, then after your character lvl ups it can have another 10 dmg, so at lvl 47 its X+20, at your char lvl 48 its X+30 and so on... so it can not go into infinity, but its still the best silver sword in the game, i didnt even bother looking at other silver sword because none of them could reach a fully leveled aerondight

ok so its upgraded by its own when i level up?
thank you for the explanation it really helped me a lot

No you still have to kill enemies with 10 charges ... but the max amount it can go up is 10 per lvl .. again if you get it at lvl 46 .. it has X dmg .. when you kill an enemy with 10 charges that dmg increases by 2, and this can occur a maximum of 5 times per lvl which is why you get 10 dmg, (you have to kill 5 enemies), then when you lvl up you can, again gain the 2 x 5 bonus dmg by killing enemies at max stacks

So long as you level Aerondight getting it at level 40 by level 70 it will be as good as if you got it at level 70.
Althought in weapon comparison it will show other weapons to be better since it doesn't take into account the extra damage from leveling it.
