NVIDIA GeForce Experience always wants to under-optimize Witcher 3
Any other NVIDIA users constantly being under-optimised? I'm running witcher 3 at Ultra and the frame rate is great with no real hiccups ( just the standard Novigrad jitter but I can get rid of that by setting priority to realtime in task manager) but GeForce experience wants to set the game to high and some options to low.

Anyone know why GeForce experience is doing this?

Probably because it was based on the state of the game before the game released, and between day 1 patch and patches after release that made the game to going from being well optimized to even better optimized, Nvidia experience is no longer reliable.

you can change your optimization preferances within GFXP to have it either performance or quality

Or just uninstall geforce experience... that application is just a burden to the computer, you don't really gain anything from it except for the streaming feature (which can be achieved through other meanings anyway).

I like it only because it notifies me of driver updates. the update they did were you have to sign in bothered me though

Because it thought you want 144fps for maximum performance.

Basically this.

If you're technically capable enough to adjust the settings yourself to achieve the best results, you don't need some 3rd party software telling you otherwise.

Because I want a bazillion background program to stress my i7. I meant the most ever 'stress' was 65% CPU load. Need more useless overlay features.

some good answers! Cheers everyone. I only like for the driver update notifications too. I have no idea why they made people get accounts and sign in though.

Because NVIDIA is pushing their cloud gaming rental. They want to bring social features in and hope to make doughs out of it. Surprisingly we the humanity as a whole are willing to spend doughs on useless stuff.

GFExp ought to be uninstalled on principle due to the recent mandatory requirement to log in even when it is only being used locally on your one gaming machine. Screw creating yet another account just for that.

no one use that ♥♥♥♥ anymore, stealing ur data through their software? pfft

I do see the same happening. I am able to get 50+ frame rates at 1440p even with hairworks turned on, yet Experience suggests settings much lower.

I just ignore it for this game.
