I get that. And if there were lots of weird designs for swords in the game, I wouldn't have mentioned it.
It's simply the fact that Ciri's sword seems to be the only one, that draws attention to it.
I might have made a mistake or two, I finished that book last week. I can recheck it if need be.
TLDR: Ciri's blade is a priceless artifact forged a few hundred years earlier and is basically a super sword.
It's a longsword.
And afaik witcher generaly use longswords or bastard swords (aka "one-and-a-half-hand sword").
You can actualy see Geralt and other witchers switch between one-handed and two-handed moves, wich indicates longswords or bastard swords.
