Endless Monster Hunting Quests a thing?
For some reason I was under the impression that villages would randomly generate more Witcher quests for me and that I'd have an endless amount of monsters to hunt. Kind of like the radiant quests in Skyrim/FO4.

Is there anything like that in W3 or afterawhile is the world kind of dead?

Also, why'd they remove drinking in W2 and W3? W1 just had a great adventuring atmosphere and rythum to it.

Nope. There are a finite number of quests and contracts. Nothing in the game randomly generates more quests. Some, very limited in number, of the monsters will continue to spawn. The game isn't meant to be played ad finitum and the monsters aren't meant to be farmed. It isn't that sort of game. It's story-driven. When the story is done, the game is over. You can still free roam to go back and finish anything you left undone but there is an end to it all.

OP just remember skyrim tried this and how lousy formulaic it was... if we could get computer to generate compelling stories rpg quality these days'd go way way up.

Thankfully, no. Witcher 3 is a properly designed game with a beginning, middle and end. Once you're done, you move on.

Thanks for clearing it up.

What a joke. Only ignorants would cast aside radiant quests. What made Skyrim one of the best RPGs ever made and the most loved, moddable, played game every (up to 2022 it's still the most played game ever):

Is due to the brilliant game design. Sure, story is not the main focus here, but EVERYTHING else is, dynamic events, radiant quests are also an excellent tool to keep the player living in this world. You can build a house, a manor, upgrade it, raise children, get married, go to the capital and trade, you can go back to your guild and help them out (radiant quests).

Basically this feature brings the world alive. Witcher 3 SHOULD have implemented something similar. It's incredibly stupid to say that once the story is finished, then turn off the game and move on. NO. Most of us gamers loved that world and want to immerse ourselves in it.

Thankfully the devs heard us and with their last DLC, Witcher can get a home and continue living in that world. Again... Dynamic and radiant quests should have been implemented. I hope modders will fix it somehow.

As others pointed out, some monsters will respawn, but no actual radiant quests in W3, unless...

Beware: it's a mod, and one heavily tampering with fundamental game mechanics, so you'd better backup your saves if you decide to give it a try

for what its worth there were two mods that I am aware of that used to do that - random encounters like Alexis linked, and daily monster hunt challenge. I have no idea if they were updated to be compatible but they used to offer the sort of functionality you are looking for + a lot of customization

As much fun as Skyrim was, radiant quests made it LESS fun, not more.

Have to agree with this. In the Witcher 4, I hope they implement two things. One, let the player design their own Witcher and Two, have the world so there is no end to the game to the point all quests stop, aka Skyrim.

Both of those things are bad game design, and NOT having them is very much why Witcher is better than Skyrim.

When you want more you do NG+.

I dont understand how anybody see's the shallow radiant quest system as being anything other than a waste of time.

Had the random encounters reworked for awhile now and really like it. Had no issues so far. It has a ton of options for spawn rates and bounty rewards.

everything you just said is a bad thing, not a good thing. a game that you stop playing is ultimately a bad game.
