avoiding nudity and sex scenes :P
I have a rather weird question regarding the witcher 3 :)

Sometimes my little brother watches me as I play games. He's like 11 years old. Most other games are not a problem but there are very "open" sex scenes in witcher 3. I know I may be able to guess from the dialogue when a sex scene will play and avoid it, but still, do you guys know a better way to avoid them when my brother is around?

Btw I am just like 20 hours into the game so not much sure if it's pretty obvious or not from the dialogue

I can only think of 3 scenes that are NOT optional when it comes to nudity, one of those is skippable (the dream that geralt has at the begining)
All other nudity scenes that include sex are completely optional. so don't romance anyone or hit the skip button as soon as the cutscene starts.

The second scene is the bathouse in Novigrad, that one is not skippable, the way to avoid that is to go to the objective immediately without looking around.

the other scene is the sauna in Skellige with Ciri, that one is unavoidable I believe.

actually.. there may be four our 5 scenes with some nudity that is not optional, if you include any scene with a succubus.

Tell yor brother about birds and bees (and Witcher 3 lasses ofc). Tell him to man up. tell him to be like gary the metrosexual fruitcake because he doesnt have feelings.

If you ask me, your brother will not be harmed by seeing sex scenes. Its not like humans are animals that are made to be around death, sex, p!ss, sh!t and rotten meat or anything. Its quite intresting actually. Back in the days most kids died early, but those that survived to like 10 years old tended to continue to live until they died of old age. I guess that most kids at that time had have at least one of their borthers or sisters buried.

I think it will more be awkward for you and him seeing a sex scene together then any harm to your brother, but then again the game is rated mature so you know what you should expect from the game. The ratings are just there to show what you should expect from the games and not actually scientifically proven to matter to the human mind. The rating system of games was first invented by the people that made Mortal Combat to not make it illegal to sell the game, the parents wanted a way to see what they was buying before buying it.

He is right. I romanced with almost every option and i must say. All you see is some breast and butts. Stuff you see at swimming pools.

This is really not meant for kids. But even if you would want to ask yourself that question, you would only be able to guess through the cutscenes. There are not many tough. Most can be skipped.

I would be more concerned about cutting people in half, screeches of enemies when you ignite them, swears and cruelty in many forms around the world in the Witcher. It's rated 18 for a reason :)

decades of gore and violence in videogames has desensitized me of the even that level of violence in the game, but junior house definitely made me feel pretty unconfortable.

Yep. It was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up. What got me more was that you actually had a choice to spare him. After seeing all of that, not a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chance.
