witcher 3: Quest: brothers in arms skellige - Stuck

I cant contuine the quest 'Brother in arms skellige' and im at 'help resolve the matter of succession to the skellige throne' I choose not to help either Cerys or Hjarmar - I did king's gambit and kill the bears and got the option to help eiither cerys or Hjamar, I choose for them to resolve matters themselves. And then the quest dint contuine, someone help!

Geralt told them to do this **** on their own and now the family gives him the cold shoulder. That's o.k. in my eyes, isn't it? Not the best method to find allies. Same in RL.

This still doens't resolve the issue. Normally if you dont choose either of them it will automaticly resolve itself and in the end the son of the dead king will be crowned the new king, but the event doesn't pop up and is currently stuck, but the quest itself is active, meaning its either a bugg or there a crafty way to resolve it.

but that's the point, Svanrige an Tuirseach becomes king as default if you choose neither cerys nor hjamar, but that doesnt trigger lol. tried waiting 4 days, still nothing. Tried searching the web myself aswell, alas cant find something relevant to my problem, thanks though!

Edit: I did both cerys and hjamar's side quests and when that's done you get the quest ''Kings gambit' which suddenly the keep gets attacked by bears. when you kill the bears, you get the choice to investigate choosing either cerys or hjalmar's side, I took neither. So I thought by default svanrige would become the king and the quest finishes, but that doesnt happen, so maybe I shouldnt helped them both with their side quests and now the quest is bugged.

I don't think so. Don't worry about it: Geralt will get no support from Skellige, but that doesn't matter. I suppose*** when Geralt will sail to the Isle of Mist then you'll get a message that the quest failed and you will find it under "FAILED".

Alright, but will there be a king then if I fail the mission? thats the thing :P

Yes, if you don't support Cerys or Hjalmar, Svaringe becomes king.
