What actor would be perfect for Geralt in a live action movies or series?
Keanu reeves :) just needs to add 30 pounds of muscle and dye his hair and beard white :)

Why does he need to be a mainstream hollywood actor who's already well known. I'm just saying this because many mainstream actors have a certain way of performing and are too rigid in their ways. They want to mold the character to their acting style and not vice-versa. There are very few who're truly versatile and can play different characters convincingly.

Imo, it needs to be some new guy or a truly versatile actor. Also, he should be a little aged and able to display emotions without speaking too much. After all, Geralt is close to a century even if he does not look it.

Speaking of Keanu, while he's good in JW and others like Street Kings etc. i don't think he'll fit the medieval fantasy setting of the Witcher. His acting looked really out of place in 47 Ronin which is probably what a witcher movie will be like.

The guy who plays Jaqen H'ghar in Game of Thrones.

Dunno why but he seems like a Geralt of Rivia to me.

Zebrowski FTW!

Last i heard, Zebrowski was selling tickets in movie theatres. Liked his performance in The Hexer. BTW, how about this guy:

He even starred in a Witcher fan film. Might have to learn serious acting though!

Guy can be mainstream or a theater actor or anything really. So long as he can pull it off. No one thought reeves would go beyond bill and ted but he has way way surpassed that brand and thought hundreds of times over. Just was seeing his beard and middle aged look reminds me a bit of Geralt now. And they had a witcher series in the eu. Lasted just a pilot or so but bombed. They switched it all up to better fit the ideas the producers and director wanted. Not the books.

Kinda hard to say. He occasionally strikes me as a Jim Caviezel, or a Joaquin Phoenix, or a Joe Mangianello (sp?) (the guy that played Alcide in True Blood). Actually I think Joe could fit the physical presence of the role really well and Joaquin could do the *squinting and brooding while looking complicated and out of place in a random village* thing.

Seems too old now. Maybe 18 years ago. But now he could play in it as Geralt if the witcher movie or series followed Ciri around :)
hugh jackman could pull it off

But the stigma of Wolverine might be too strong.
