Spoilers: Confused about timeline/Uma

I haven't finished the game yet, but already put in 100hrs and I have just had the battle at Kaer Morhen where we lost one of our own, and then went on to fight the 3 ladies. But, there this bit that is nagging me (I blame it on my engineer mindset). It is about Uma. We know that as the cursed Uma he has the thinking capacity of a toddler with training wheels, and thus cannot cast spells or use teleportation. So how does he get from Velen to Skelliega, and back to Velen?

Here is how I am seeing the events:

1) Geralt first meet Uma in Crow's Peaks, where the Baron said he won Uma off some guy in a card game some time ago.

2) Geralt follow's Ciri to Novigrad, and then on to Skelliega.

3) There in Skelliega he had just missed Ciri, where an eyewitness recalled seeing a creature fitting Uma's description on the beach just after Ciri had just gotten on to a boat.

4) Geralt connected that the creature is Uma, and heads back to Velen to fetch him.

So how is Uma doing this or am I off-based in my understanding of events?

Uma was in Skellige. Baron wins Uma from someone and brings him to Velen (or that someone had already brought Uma to Velen). Geralt meets Uma in Velen.

you are incorrect about the timeline.

Most of the events in skellige happened before the events of velen/novigrad the last event to happen to ciri was her fleeing from Temple isle by teleporting herself to skellige, Avallach noticed her, and he managed to intercept her (not sure how he does that tbh) but they boh land in the shores of one of the island of Skellige, just like avallach was able to sense ciri's use of her abilities, Eredin did as well, and they attacked the isle shortly after Ciri and avallach arrived.

Avallach by this point was already at is final moments before the curse took full effect, and he knew that, so he took ciri to the isle of mists, however (this is speculation now) when he was returning, the curse fully transformed him into Uma, and he arrived at shores of isle next to Skjall shortly after that.

After that he was taken by random skelligers, until eventually the Baron won him in a card game.

The timeline is:

Ciri is with the elven sage in Skelliga.

The hunt shows up and Ciri get teleported to Velen.

Ciri ius forced to flee Velen and gets help from the Bloody Baron to get to Novigrad.

In Novigrad Ciri try to find a way to lift a curse but is forced to flee and is teleported back to Skelliga.

The hunt shows up again and Ciri is forced to flee and disapear. The only thing that is left and releated to Ciri is Uma.
