Why is Geralt called the Butcher of Blaviken
Through out the three games i'v heard a lot of people refer to Geralt as "The Butcher of Blaviken" but exactly what happened there has never been covered. I assume he earned the title in the books but since I don't speak polish I haven't read them. Does anyone know what happened there and why he earned the title?

It's a reference to the short story "the lesser evil" in which Geralt murders 5(?) bandits quite adeptly in order to stop them from murdering a dude. The peasants are unaware as to why he did it. They only saw him do it. Therefore they labeled Geralt as the butcher of Blaviken.
Also - the books are translated to English and they are widely available. I highly recommend them!

Oh, well that pretty much loses all meaning when Geralt never goes 5 minutes without quite adeptly murdering large groups of people in full view of several peasents.
Witchers already have a very bad reputation, so Geralt chopping down all the bandits in the world only adds to that. It's a game so they had to make a few enemies in the cities.
Its because of what Sadman said. But here is a clip of the actual event as witnessed by several people on that day:

LOL. It's from a polish tv series on the witcher. Apparently there's the whole series on him on youtube. The production values are very poor and on par with low budget tv shows from the 90's. Though i can't say about the translations since i don't know a word of polish. It's funny watching this with friends. Especially the way they depict Geralt killing monsters due to low budget and cg animations. Be prepared for some major cringe :)

Realism and immersion are usually abandoned for the sake of flashy action. Sadly W3 is the forerunner in this matter, which is quite sad since the previous games handled this much better, as well as other, even AAA, titles.

What does a group of 3 bandits have to do with being flashy? Sorry, but your beloved Fallout 4 is the forerunner when it comes to stupid action stuff.
Taking a nuke to the dome with no after effect at all? What in tw3 is even close to that? That rivals that stupid ♥♥♥♥ in Indiana Jones with the fridge (that the vastly superior NV even made fun of)

Geralt constantly takes on enemies of both humanoid and monsters *especially Nekkers jesus christ* in groups of 5+ in The Witcher 3. Although yeah, I suppose he has yet to nuke anything.

I agree completely. The books are translated very well into english and offers a much better look into the world of the witcher. They are written quite well and there is so much more that could be explored from the witcher universe. Mr Andrzej Sapkowski deserves appreciation for his beautiful work. It's too bad he's not happy with the games depicting the setting properly. But print will always be superior to other mediums for telling a story and games/movies can seldom depict the actual source material in all its glory. BTW, i would suggest reading all of them, not just the LW and SoD, you may find them very interesting. Here's a link on why & where to get them:

PS: LOL, I inserted that clip just as a chance to see how they showed him on TV. It would not be wise to begin the initiation into the witcher universe from that show. And i'm not sure about the translations. Besides, i doubt anyone who's been spoiled with shows like GoT will find it remotely watchable. But that's how they made them then with low budget and not enough cg. Though cheesy, i think shows like these have their own charm and i do like to watch them from time to time.

I love how Geralt himself is the worst actor in the bunch.
Because Sushiman of Novigrad was already taken.

Uhm, It wasnt like that exactly.

Yennefer and Geralt were both in that same village called Blaviken, and there happened a thing between Geralt and yennefer versus some other people, and when villagers saw what was happening the VILLAGERS attacked yennefer and Geralt thinking they were there to raid the town, Geralt defended yennefer and killed most of the Village folk in order to save her, and failing that,Geralt was impaled with a Pitchfork by a local Villager.

Cirilla came and rescued both Yennefer and Geralt, teleporting them away from the scene, and Cirilla took geralt to be healed by a mage friend of hers.

The polish TV series was a cannon, it should NOT be mixed with the books. They took a lot of creative pushes and got some things wrong in that TV series compared to the old books also, including why he was called the butcher of blaviken.

The "Butcher of Blaviken" comes from the way Geralt murdered the townfolk who were attacking Yennefer.
