Alt-tab slowing game?
So every time I alt tab the game, and re-enter it, it lagges like crazy. Then when it settles down, it still takes a wile for it to recover. I'm pretty sure it isn't my compuer's fault, as it pretty much only happens to this game.

any help is welcome.
Usually no problems, but I do experience something like you from time to time: Sometimes I get forced out of the game by clicking on a screen area where a outlook reminder popped up in the background (You can turn that off, yes; I'm too lazy to do so, also yes).

When this happens, I keep getting trown back to the desktop when trying to bring up the running game window (playing fullscreen), cannot keep the game up in the foreground untill I kill the popup.

So, for lack of a better suggestion: Do you have any background applications running that might conflict with your game when this happens?

Likely we can rule out background applications then.
(Also: Fire up that Internet Explorer and download Chrome or Firefox you heathen! :-P)

The issue could be any number of things then, most likely the configuration of your machine.
That is not to say there is anything wrong with your computer: Some PC-setups just don't play nice with alt-tabbing some games to the background.

I experienced this issue on my pervious rig where alt-tabbing messed up a number of games for me.

Best advice I can give is to try and run the game in borderless window-mode and see if you get better results.

Alternatively: Try to not Alt-Tab that much ;)
